    Neighbors    Ch. 2

     

    Monday

     

    Claire had been up since 5:30am to say she was anxious about her first day of school was an understatement, but she felt a little better after walking around the campus. Bette gravitated to the Art Department which aggravated Claire a bit since she didn’t have the same love for art that her mother did but a lot of the rooms were locked. It wasn’t so much that she didn’t enjoy art but she knew that she didn’t have the same passion for art…in fact this had been a point of contention between them. Claire grew up with art all around her and gained an appreciation for art but she wasn’t an artist and it frustrated her that her mother always tried to push her into art. So when her mom had told her that her new school had a first rate art program she was even more put off with having to move.

     

     

    She was able to find all her classrooms and checked out her locker but today the halls would be packed with other kids and being the new girl she couldn’t just hangout with her friends because she didn’t have any. That wasn’t entirely true, when her mom was in the office getting her papers she bumped into a senior named Jeremy. He was really cute, and had short blond hair and pretty blue eyes. He said that he just got out of football practice and needed to get something from his locker. He was a little forward but also seemed really nice. She would have found out more about him but her mom came over.

     

     

    Her mom was polite and shook his hand but later told Claire that she got a bad vibe off of him. Her mom was usually a good judge of character but Claire wasn’t going to blow off the one person she knew. She had decided that she wouldn’t approach him but also wouldn’t turn him away if he really wanted to be her friend.

     

     

    Bette came into the kitchen and found her daughter deep in thought. She woke up earlier then she normally would, but Claire wanted to be at school by 7am and if going early calmed Claire’s nerves she was glad to wake up a few hours early…besides she wanted to go to the gallery early to assess its condition.

    1. We need more. Its great how you brought all our favorite characters in to play, but most of them are teenagers. Dean will definitly be the defender, and will end up with Claire, cos even though no one knows it yet they’re mother’s are destined to be together. Can’t wait for them to meet.

    5. Loved all the new (old) characters of this story. I can’t wait for Dean to meet Bette or for that matter all the gang to meet Bette. Then “drum roll” for Bette and Tina to meet.

    7. this is great….Claire seems to fit in well…..so I have a feeling that the guy Jeremy is one of those that Dean does not like huh? Can’t wait for the moms to meet. I like that you have Harrison included in the group. I always thought he was humorous. he and Alice play off each other well. great job. PPS

Can’t wait to see where you’re taking this… I used to tell you that we all fell in love with Eli… Well, I think we’re all falling in love with Dean now… Ahaha, how amazing is that??? But I hope you won’t have us wait too long to have the meeting between Bette and Tina… A month is a long time… Anyway, PPS on either story, I love your writing! Thanks.
