Forever Friends Ch. 23
Previously –
“You normally don’t still have nausea this long after your chemo treatments.” Nausea was all Dana needed to hear to have the few fluids she just put in her body revisit her. “That’s it…” Alice moved from the edge of the bed walking across the room for the cordless phone. “I’m calling Dr. Kelly to make you an appointment and canceling your PT with Josh.” Alice words were spoken quickly and filled with worry.
Chapter 23 –
Ten minutes later Alice was helping Dana put on her shoes and coat. Though Dana tried to protest, Alice would not even let Dana change clothes, mainly because it would take too long. Really if Alice had it her way, an ambulance would be arriving right now, but Dr. Kelly insisted that it was not necessary. He wanted Dana to come to his office just as precaution but did not seem overly concerned about her condition.
By the time Dana and Alice arrived at the hospital, Dana was wishing Alice had called the ambulance. She didn’t think it was possible for Alice to drive crazier than she did months ago when Alice was chasing Dana in her car. She realized when Alice brought the vehicle to a screeching halt at the hospital entrance that she was wrong! Alice threw the gear shifter in park, jumped out and ran around the car opening Dana’s door. Dana was very pale and breathing hard. “Are you okay?” Alice asked her voice filled with panic.
“Oh my God! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?” Dana turned in the seat and stuck her feet out of the car.
Alice stopped Dana in her tracks. “What? What’s wrong? Are you having chest pains? Wait let me get a nurse!” Alice’s eyes were large as she looked Dana over, talking so fast and frantic that Dana was barely able to clearly hear the questions.
Dana began to laugh and the shocked and confused look on Alice’s face at her laughing just made Dana laugh harder. “I was talking about your driving. You drove here like a maniac.” Dana stopped laughing when the guilt hit her. Alice shut her eyes and dropped her head like a small child who was being scolded. “Hey…” Dana lifted Alice’s face to look her in the eyes. “I know you only did it because you are worried, scared, and care. It means so much to me that you care enough to drop everything and rush me to the doctor the second you think something is wrong. Especially since I like to wait until it’s too late to finally go see a doctor.” Dana smiled at Alice and pulled her into a hug. “Thank you.”

Cougar, 5 months ago there was a Danish fanfic drought. At that time, I was a silence reader and tried to rally the writers and promised to comment as long as they write to show my support. I am just doing my lit†le part to keep Danish alive and I am more than happy to do it. I used to have a piece of jewelry which was given to me by someone who was very dear to me. For years, I wore it and would not take it off. i could totally understand the rationale. FYI, S5E1 is still showing on ourchart.com. Back to this chapter, S ruled. The whole Yoda speech was great and necessary to knock some sense into A. I really wish they could open up and speak honestly. It must be so difficult for A to care for D with all the unresolved feelings. But i am sure that you will take good care of them. Thank you and pps.
Pretty frickin amazing!

Shane’s using good psychology in this. Interpreting dreams and giving Alice direction. Go for it.
Excellent update, cougar! So glad that Dana’s problem is not more serious — although I guess everything is serious when you are in the weakened state she is in. Love the touches of humor about Alice’s driving. Shane is smarter than I am. I didn’t realize what the dreams were. I hope the talk between the girls goes OK. Thanks and PPS!
Love the story. Thanks for the long update. It made my day after a long day at work.
Hi, Thank you for this wonderful story, can’t wait to see how Dana is going to take what Alice have to say.
