Forever Friends Ch. 23
“Don’t thank me yet. We still need to get you to Dr. Kelly’s office and make sure everything is okay.” Alice pulled away from Dana regretfully and opened the back door to get Dana’s walker.
Upon entering Dr. Kelly’s office, Dana was escorted directly to an exam room by one of his nurses. The receptionist didn’t bother to stop Dana or Alice. She had seen them enough to know that Alice would not leave Dana’s side and that she could just take all of the paperwork to Alice in the exam room in a few minutes. The nurse who showed them to the exam room entered as well and began with the standard set of questions. She then took Dana’s blood pressure and temperature, recorded the readings and said Dr. Kelly would be in to see Dana in a few minutes, before leaving the room. Dana began to feel sick again and Alice did her best to help Dana lie down and make her as comfortable as possible.
Dr. Kelly came in a few minutes later. Alice could have sworn her heart stopped when Dr. Kelly walked in. Alice held her breath and reached for Dana’s hand. Dana glanced at Alice and began rubbing the back of her hand with her thumb. Dana knew Alice was worried but didn’t realize just how scared Alice was until she held her hand, feeling how sweaty her palm was. Dr. Kelly checked Dana’s heart and lungs and pushed around on her abdomen some, eliciting an occasional moan of pain from Dana. Dr. Kelly finished and took a seat in his stool and addressed them both. “Well Dana, with your symptoms and mild fever, I believe you have a stomach bug, which is why you continue to be nauseous and don’t feel well. I am going to have Natalie come in and draw some blood just to make sure I’m correct and I will have her give you some liquid phenergan as well to help with the nausea. It should only take about 15 minutes to get the results and I will let you know exactly what I find out.” Dr. Kelly stood and took a step toward the door when Alice finally found her voice to speak.

Cougar, 5 months ago there was a Danish fanfic drought. At that time, I was a silence reader and tried to rally the writers and promised to comment as long as they write to show my support. I am just doing my lit†le part to keep Danish alive and I am more than happy to do it. I used to have a piece of jewelry which was given to me by someone who was very dear to me. For years, I wore it and would not take it off. i could totally understand the rationale. FYI, S5E1 is still showing on ourchart.com. Back to this chapter, S ruled. The whole Yoda speech was great and necessary to knock some sense into A. I really wish they could open up and speak honestly. It must be so difficult for A to care for D with all the unresolved feelings. But i am sure that you will take good care of them. Thank you and pps.
Pretty frickin amazing!

Shane’s using good psychology in this. Interpreting dreams and giving Alice direction. Go for it.
Excellent update, cougar! So glad that Dana’s problem is not more serious — although I guess everything is serious when you are in the weakened state she is in. Love the touches of humor about Alice’s driving. Shane is smarter than I am. I didn’t realize what the dreams were. I hope the talk between the girls goes OK. Thanks and PPS!
Love the story. Thanks for the long update. It made my day after a long day at work.
Hi, Thank you for this wonderful story, can’t wait to see how Dana is going to take what Alice have to say.
