    But there’s no blame for how our love did slowly fade. And now that it’s gone, it’s like it wasn’t there at all. And here I rest, where disappointment and regret collide, lying awake at night.

    “Sometimes.” Spencer admitted, opening her eyes and tipping her head lazily to the side so she could look at Ashley, “Most of the time I am just mad or upset with her over something she did, or didn’t do.”

    “Yeah, I am the same way.” She gave a little nod, her voice soft and quiet, “I am just so disillusioned sometimes… I mean, there were things she did, that I never picked up on till now.”

    “Exactly. If before the accident, you asked me what I thought of her, I probably would have said she was flawless. But when I look back, I can see so many things that were wrong.” Spencer sighed heavily, sinking deeper into the couch as she squeezed her eyes shut.

    “I think we both deserve a lot better.” The brunette spoke solemnly, studying Spencer’s face intently since the blonde’s eyes were closed and she could get away with it.

    “I just feel like I can’t get any better. I think my love life is going to be like this or worse for the rest of my life. All I want is for someone to be faithful and honest, I am sick of all the drama.” Her eyes were shut and allowed her to forget exactly who she was talking to. At this point she was just thinking out loud. “I just want to be loved.”

    “Don’t say that… Your going to be loved Spencer, I mean, some one would have to be crazy not to. Your gorgeous, honest, outgoing, your practically perfect.” Ashley flushed when she realized Spencer’s eyes had opened and she was tempted to look away. But, she held firm, and their stare held more gravity than anything she could have ever said. Suddenly she found herself leaning forward, her eyes glancing down to the full lips of the blonde beside her.

    When Spencer didn’t move away, Ashley quickly closed the distance between them, her mouth slightly parted. Like a flipped switch, all thoughts in her head came to a grinding halt as she just focused on how good this felt. As she ran her tongue along Spencer’s bottom lip, and the girl parted her lips, her body roared to life. Immediately her hands were moving over the girls soft skin, her tongue gingerly exploring her mouth. It was a feverish kiss, and both girls were equally absorbed in the heat of it, at least until the wheels in Spencer’s head began to turn and she jerked away from the brunette.

    1. Somehow I missed the last chapter… But now that I’m all caught up I must say this one is really starting to heat up. The whole pretending to be lovers thing and kissing to ‘show’ the other couple what a kiss was… And now this! I’m really hoping Spencer just… goes with it. Even though she’s still dealing with Sarah’s death which is completely understandable. And how awkward must it be for Ashley to be in Spencer’s home knowing the things that happened there? Your writing is great, keep it up, and pms!

    2. this story plays with your heart, i feel for Glen cuz he had to walk in on his sister slowly dieing and now just wants to protect her only he doesn’t realize he’s smothering her which could lead to the same scene again and the whole Ashley/Spencer relationship and how it is developing is one of the best i’ve read…pms

You have created a unique and compelling story that stretches the imagination beyond what most people are comfortable with. The story begins with a tragic death of a lover, then quickly reveals the shocking truth of unfaithfulness, and if that weren’t enough the brokenhearted and devastated lover that had been left behind is slowly and painstakingly falling for the woman that quite literally stole her dead lover’s heart. That is one of the most interesting and intriguing plots I have read in a long time. Brilliant! PMS
