    But there’s no blame for how our love did slowly fade. And now that it’s gone, it’s like it wasn’t there at all. And here I rest, where disappointment and regret collide, lying awake at night.

    “You have a lot of clothes…” An amused Spencer commented as she peered into the girl’s closet, eyes widening considerably. There were shirts, pants, skirts, shoes, jackets, pretty much any item of clothing you could imagine, and it all was scattered about in no particular order. It almost made you dizzy just looking at it.

    “Mmhmm…” She agreed absentmindedly, still searching through the dresser. Eventually she found what she was looking for, and emerged around the corner holding a pair of boxer shorts and a wife beater, “These work?”

    The blonde turned around, smiling as she saw Ashley’s choices. She wore pretty much the same ensemble at her own home, “Perfect.”

    “Good, because that’s all your getting.” She said with a wide grin as she tossed the clothing on her bed, “I’ll let you change.” With that she dismissed herself from the room, deciding in the mean time she’d grab a blanket and a pillow for the couch downstairs.

    “Geee… Thanks.” Spencer replied, smiling as she watched Ashley leave the room. First she pulled the burette from her hair, letting the blonde locks tumble back down to her shoulders. Then she slipped out of the attractive blue dress she wore, letting it pool at her feet before she stepped into the boxer shorts. With nimble movements she pulled the white wife beater over her head, adjusting it slightly over her bare chest. After taking a moment to wash her face and make sure she didn’t look too awful, Spencer then descended the stairs to find the couch already made up for her.

    “Hey, that was quick.” The brown eyed girl greeted as she settled the pillow on the arm rest of the couch. She was now dressed very similar to Spencer, and she couldn’t help but be a little bit aroused by the sight of Spencer in her clothes. Ridding her mind of those thoughts, she plopped down onto the couch, folding her hands behind her head, “Boy, today was a long day.”

    Spencer took a seat beside her, making sure there was a bit of distance between them. “That is has.” The girl concurred, sinking into the overstuffed leather and allowing her eyes to shut.

    “You ever miss her?” Ashley spoke after a long silence had settled between them. Both she and Spencer knew exactly who “her” was. She didn’t mean for the question to rile the girl, she was just curious as to what kind of thoughts were in that head of hers.

    1. Somehow I missed the last chapter… But now that I’m all caught up I must say this one is really starting to heat up. The whole pretending to be lovers thing and kissing to ‘show’ the other couple what a kiss was… And now this! I’m really hoping Spencer just… goes with it. Even though she’s still dealing with Sarah’s death which is completely understandable. And how awkward must it be for Ashley to be in Spencer’s home knowing the things that happened there? Your writing is great, keep it up, and pms!

    2. this story plays with your heart, i feel for Glen cuz he had to walk in on his sister slowly dieing and now just wants to protect her only he doesn’t realize he’s smothering her which could lead to the same scene again and the whole Ashley/Spencer relationship and how it is developing is one of the best i’ve read…pms

    7. Breathtaking…that’s the word I would use to describe this marvelous story that has most definitely captured my heart. You have created a unique and compelling story that stretches the imagination beyond what most people are comfortable with. The story begins with a tragic death of a lover, then quickly reveals the shocking truth of unfaithfulness, and if that weren’t enough the brokenhearted and devastated lover that had been left behind is slowly and painstakingly falling for the woman that quite literally stole her dead lover’s heart. That is one of the most interesting and intriguing plots I have read in a long time. Brilliant! PMS
