Los Angeles Breeds Forbidden Love – (Chapter: Two- Right As Rain)

Glen watched Spencer ascend the stairs, his shoulders sagging once she was out of sight. Nothing could make him feel more helpless than not being able to protect his own little sister. But, he was horrible in sensitive situations like these. He never knew what to do or to say. Half the time he just made things worse. He began moving around the downstairs, cleaning dishes, washing sheets, vacuuming, all of those typical mundane chores. He was positive that if Spencer weren’t so upset that she’d be amused by his newfound housemaid status.

Moving into the living room he bent over, placing the items scattered on the floor back into the cardboard box. Halfway through he picked up the unfolded note and the photograph. His eyes immediately went to the photo first, just because the other brown haired girl was really quite attractive, and he couldn’t help his instincts. He then moved onto the small slip of paper, and just as Spencer had, his mouth fell open. His heart rate quickened as he pieced everything together. This was why Spencer was acting so out of it. Another jolt of realization hit him a moment later- Spencer had been in that bath a very long time.

In a split second, Glen was on his feet and climbing the stairs in quick succession. Reaching the bathroom door he knocked as hard as he could, his knuckles aching although he hardly noticed the pain. “Spencer! Spencer open up!” He shouted, although he heard nothing in response, “If you don’t open the door I’m going to kick it in!” Shit. Still nothing. Backing up a step the boy wasted no time as he lifting his foot and slammed it into the door near the knob. A large crack appeared in the center of the door but it was still in one piece. Lifting his leg again, he forcefully thrust his foot into the door a second time.

This time, the door snapped and flew open, tearing the doorframe off the wall. Glen shoved his way through and was met with the most disturbing site he would ever witness firsthand. Spencer was in the bath with her head slumped against the wall, surrounded by murky red water. Glen resisted the urge to vomit, although his legs did give and he fell to his knees on the floor, “Jesus Spencer…” He choked out, eyes wide as he stared at her face. His hand scrambled for his cell phone and he dialed 911, anxiously relaying the details in a voice so shaky he was a bit surprised they could even understand him. After repeating several times for them to hurry, he hung up his phone, dropping it to the floor.

    1. aww man, I hate the fact that Spencer tried to kill herself, but very thankful that Glen was there to save her life. I really do love this story and the way you tell it is so heartfelt and honest. Well done! PMS
