Lusting Your Blood: Edward
When Alice finished she had stood up from where she had been sitting before and had this strange kind of glow in her eyes. Was she disgusted? “The reason I thought this would be important was because this wasn’t an ordinary vision I saw. I don’t know what is happening after that because I can’t see further. It’s as if your actions there will determine how everything will turn out. This could have a serious impact on you. I just thought that you’d like to know,” she almost spat at me and stormed out of the room in vampire speed. I was alone in my room again. I could understand that she was offended by something but didn’t know what. Then again, even smallest of things have set her off so I guess it’s not that important.
That was true though, what she said about my hunting style. I like to hunt. When stalking my prey I almost feel the adrenaline running through my veins; I know it is running through my victims’ veins. I like to think that the more my prey is scared the sweeter the blood. Oh, the blood… I just love the feeling of something thicker that water and with such exquisite taste flowing down my throat. Mmm…
These thoughts made my hunger grow: I felt the need to feed. When I stood up I saw my reflection on one of the windows in my room. My eyes were almost black.
I went downstairs and said in a normal voice – since vampires can hear even the slightest of squeaks from kilometres away – “I’m going out. Don’t know when I’ll be back.” I heard silent murmurs of ‘okay’ and then I was out.
At times like these I hate that our small sort of castle is so far away from everything. Of course we still had that little house in the outskirts of Forks but that didn’t seem safe enough for us. That’s why we bought this fortress.
I was headed for my small hometown. Alice said I would end up in there anyway so why should I make this harder for myself? I’ll just go there, have a snack and then go back to that boring thing I have been taught to call life.
