    Lusting Your Blood: Edward

Soon I saw the park Alice had shown me in her vision. What I didn’t see was the girl. Well, I guess that waiting wouldn’t kill me… I snickered at this thought. Like anything could kill me.

I was about to leave when I heard some steps coming this way slowly: it was the one I had been waiting for. Why I couldn’t pick up her thoughts? I should have been able to. This was perplexing to me.

When she arrived to the park I was very confused – she was this close but still she didn’t give off any thoughts. Was she brainless or something? The way she tried to make those circles in the air sure made her look like that. She eventually noticed me and looked towards me with those scared deer’s eyes. She was looking so awkward that I started laughing.

She looked so embarrassed. She even tried to go away but what kind of a hunter I’d be if I’d let her off the hook that easily?

“Don’t go yet. Please. I haven’t laughed like this for a long time now.” And this was true. It was the first time over so many years I felt like laughing simply because something was sincerely making me laugh.

She had heard me; I know it for she had stopped right after I had said my first word. I also noticed how she hesitated in whether she should stay or go. This struggling with herself was interesting for me to observe because this time I wasn’t doing anything. For the first time I was completely powerless and this was very peculiar. I wanted to know how she managed to block me out without her own knowing.

I guess that the curiosity got the best of her as well because she turned around. I smiled again and after I had pushed myself away from the tree I went closer to her. With every step I took I heard her heart’s thu-thump go faster and faster. She must’ve sensed the danger now but it was too late. I was happy to see that at least my charm was still with me.

“What’s your name? You aren’t local for I haven’t seen you here.” I took a step closer and the thu-thump went even faster. I also noticed how she started to fidget on her place. She was clearly uncomfortable.
