Jorey set up to take her shot, “Are not.”
Out of nowhere Madison appeared between the two of them, “Are not what?”
Jorey looked at Ashley unable to come up with a lie. “I think she has a thing for Aiden, but she swears up and down that she’s not falling for him.” Ashley said. Jorey was relieved. Thank god Ashley saved the day.
“Oh, well I know she’s not. She told me.”
Ashley smiled, she knew the tension in between the two of them. It happened with Spencer and herself whenever one of them would have a new friend that was a girl. There was sparkage, but obviously Madison and Jorey were both trying to deny the feelings. “Well, I’m gonna go change. Class is over in five minutes. I’ll see you two tonight at Grey.”
“Alright, see ya later Ash.”
Madison looked at Jorey, “Ashley’s coming?”
“Yeah and Spencer too.”
“I’m going to be stuck at this damn place with a bunch of lezbos! You have to be kidding me?!”
“Look Madison. I know that you all have a history. But I’m friends with Aiden, Ashley, and Spencer. And I really want to be friends with you. So if we’re going to make this friendship work, then you have to accept them being around sometimes.” That did NOT sound like a “friendship” speech, Jorey thought.
Madison looked around, “You’re right. I’ll try.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
Things were finally settled and the night seemed promising. Finally all of them would be together and no conflicts would arise. At least that’s what Jorey hoped for. All went well until Madison, Spencer, and Ashley left Grey. Leaving Aiden and Jorey alone.
Jorey and Aiden sat at a table in the back listening to the local band play their last couple of songs. Jorey was happy with how the night had went. For the first time they all got along. Aiden and Jorey were sitting close at the table. He put his arm around her. She didn’t think much of it at the time because it was just an arm. But he started to lean in closer. Jorey turned just in time to catch Aiden’s lips with her own. They were kissing. But Jorey wasn’t thinking about Aiden as their lips and tongues caressed one another. Then she snapped out of it and pulled away.
“What? What’s wrong?”
“You’re…”
“I’m not what Jor?”
“You’re not her.”

I’m really into this story…I love stories where Madison is an actual human being. Nobody can be as bitchy as she is without using it to cover something…please don’t turn Madison back into the queen bitch. I like her this way!!!! Keep it up!
