    Ash gets a visitor and the past rears its beautiful face… again

    After I finished high school I didn’t really have much to show for more than thirteen years in education.  Sure, I’d passed all my subjects, but I didn’t know what I wanted to do, or where I wanted to go to do it.  I left high school with few really close friends, and once those few that I could count on the fingers of one hand had all moved away to different colleges, I was left in LA with very little to do, in a big lonely house, with a mother who would have been more use if she was non-existent.  For over a year I moved from job to job, earning a little extra cash through open mic nights and gigs at bars, pubs and clubs.  Through the bar job I got at Gray, I became a regular in the live music scene, and so didn’t turn down the offer once it came from my father to work for him at his production company.  I was misguided and naive enough to think that working for my father may land me a future in recording, but after learning the hard way that he had no real intentions of supporting my future, particularly in the music industry, I decided I wouldn’t even ask for his help if I needed it.  And so, with the end of the year approaching in what would have been my first term of my second year at college, I resolved to only work for dad until the end of January, after which I insisted I would get a proper job and maybe even do evening classes to get a few more qualifications.  Around the same time, Track One, my dad’s company, was taking on grad students that required industry placements during their winter break.  Enter Spencer, the bright, beautiful, blonde, second year graphic design student from UCLA who was taken on to help Track One with their re-branding.  Dad felt the whole company needed a face lift for the approaching year and who better to help re-design logos and web sites than a promising student who came with such a lengthy and impressive resumé.

    I had been dating Aiden during my final years at high school and after a year and a semester of struggling to maintain a long distance relationship, we realized we just weren’t going to work as a couple, and so demoted each other to ‘best friends’.  The only person I felt I had anything in common with who was in the area, around my age, and who I could confide in about how unhappy I was, was Spencer, and we quickly became very close due to our circumstances – she missed university, and I missed those of my friends that were at university.  It seemed like an ideal friendship – we had similar tastes, a similar sense of humour, similar life experiences, and even shared a mutual dislike for our mothers.  We would bond of an evening, after a long day in the office/studio, over a bottle of wine and a good bitch about how rubbish men were.  Despite how upset I told myself I was over Aiden, in truth I was too busy developing new friendships and trying to put my life on track to be as devastated about our split as I thought I would be.  My life became all about the few nights a week I would spend in Spencer’s company; the few times we would pass by each other during working hours; the few breaks I would spend with her, drinking coffee and mulling over our day’s assignments.

    2. Wow. Now we know why Ash is pissed. I would be too if the person I was falling in love with did that to me. Update soon, would ya? I’m ready for some more “project new girl”. :] Woot. And I think there might just be more behind the story then what is at first revealed. Hmm?

    4. shut up! how could spencer do that?! ughhh. poor ashley :-(. this is like..the only time i feel bad for her lol. cuz honestly, after the season finale i feel no remorse towards her. well…i say that now cuz i dont know whats going to come about in season 3 haha buuut…still. great update! cant wait for more!
