    Chapter 3.

     

    Ashley bit back her need to call this Tommy guy an asshole. “Why do you put up with this guy?” She tried to sound casual but failed miserably.

     

    Her bitter tone took Spencer by surprised. The small blonde chewed on her bottom lip before answering. “I don’t know. We just fit together I think. He’s quarterback, I’m head cheerleader.” She shrugged. “Just seems right.” Ashley just nodded, knowing she had no right to tell Spencer she was dating the wrong guy for the wrong reasons. “Was there another guy after Madison?”

     

    “Not really.” She mumbled. But there were a few visits to the strip clubs. She thought evilly. “But I’ll never date a King High cheerleader again.”

     

    “Madison was a cheerleader?” Spencer asked with a chuckle.

     

    Ashley smirked. “Yes sh- he was. He wasn’t the first cheerleader I dated, and hopefully won’t be the last.”

     

    Giving a smile the blue-eyed blonde questioned, "Do you really have a thing for cheerleaders?"

     

    I do now. Her mind answered, she just smiled and shook her head no. Can’t risk raising any unwanted suspicions. She told herself.

    The next few hours went by smoothly. After coffee Spencer had suggested a tour around the place which Ashley gladly accepted. Spencer showed Ashley all of her favorite spots, and the brunette had to admit her grandmother lived on very beautiful grounds. Both girls decided it was time for a lemonade break so they made their way back to the house. Ashley quietly listened to Spencer’s going on animatedly about how she’d practically grew up on Helen’s farm. Spencer didn’t mind their mostly one sided conversation. Ashley hadn’t said a lot to the small blonde all day, and when she did it was either to off an opinion or to let out a small laugh, which was okay by Spencer. She’s probably just naturally quiet. She concluded.

     

    About ten minutes later they entered the small house. Ashley heard the phone ring and ran into the kitchen to answer it. "Hello?"

     

    “Dear it’s Helen. I’m not going to be home by dinner so I called Mrs. Carlin and asked if it was okay if you had dinner with them. She said it was alright so I’ll pick up on my home. Is that alright, Dear? ”
