A Christmas Story(3 chapters in one)

    (Alice)

‘To who?’=She looks around the store. ‘Because the only thing you’ve been doing is working and ever since Tina left you’ve turned into some lifeless robot who cares for her daughter three times a week and works a good seven. You’re boring, Bette so boring that you burn my eyes every time I look at you.’

    (Bette)

‘Ouch! Did you have to go there?’

    (Alice)

‘Yes, because someone needs to talk some sense into you. You’ve changed for the worse and I’m afraid of what you’ll be in the next couple of months. For Christ sake you don’t even use a vibrator anymore.’

    (Bette)

‘So, but I save a lot of money on batteries.’=She sees this dress and adores it. She picks it up and places it against her body and imagines herself wearing it.

    (Alice)

‘I love that dress, Bette. You should wear it to the party. I’m sure whomever there will love it.’=She shakes her head. ‘God bless Jodi. At least she was smart enough to let you go because we all know that you’re still stuck on Tina. I believe it’s the same vice versa.’=Bette drops the dress onto the floor.

    (Bette)

‘I am not. I moved on and so did Tina. We’re both a lot closer now than ever. I wish we were this close when we were together.’

    (Alice)

‘See, there you go again. I rest my case. You’re still stuck on her. God there is hope.’

    (Bette)

‘Why, because I wish we were closer then instead of now.’

    (Alice)

‘Yes, because it sounds as if you regret it and you wouldn’t mind fixing it if you had the chance. Your voice doesn’t sound convincing, Bette. There will never be another woman, Ms. Porter unless you decide to patch things back up with your wife might I add. I can’t believe she was going to divorce you.’

    (Bette)

‘Don’t mention it.’=She gazes toward the dressing room. ‘I’m going to try this dress on. Do you mind?’

    (Alice)

‘No. I’ll see you when you get back.’=She speed dials Shane.

    (Shane)

    ‘Hey, Al what’s up?’

    (Alice)

‘Hey, buddy! I hear a love connection coming in. The forecast will be sunny and hot with a humidity of 92.’

    (Shane)

    ‘Who’s getting back together?’

    1. Cute story! I loved the ending. Nothing would please me more than a Bette and Jodi break-up with a Bette and Tina make-up this year. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and I wish you a happy and prosperous New Year.
