A Christmas Story(3 chapters in one)

    (Alice)

    ‘Bette and Tina.’

    (Shane)

    ‘Who?=Alice sucks her teeth.

    (Alice)

‘Don’t play dumb. You know who I’m talking about. I know it’s been a century since they’ve been together…’ Shane chuckles into the phone… ‘But, I think something might happen soon.’

    (Shane)

‘Alice, Bette and Tina are done. She’s happy with Jodi. I know a while back I saw them shopping for rings or something.’

    (Alice)

‘Rings?’=Alice thinks about it. She recalls. ‘Yes I know. But, here’s the good part, Jodi broke up with Bette.’

    (Shane)

‘What? When? I just saw them two having dinner the other night.’

    (Alice)

‘Jodi is in New York where Bette left her.’

    (Shane)

‘Oh, ooh!’=She realized that Bette had lied to her.

    (Alice)

    ‘She lied to me.’

    (Shane)

‘Because you’re always telling her business.’

    (Alice)

‘She told me she was going deep for Angie.’

    (Shane)

‘Well, she was going deep, but not for Angie.’=Her line beeped. ‘Hey Al, I have to go I’ll call you later.

    (Alice)

‘Yeah.’=She ends the call. When she looked up she saw Bette coming toward her with a big smile. ‘The dress fits.’

    (Bette)

‘Like a charm.’=She buys the dress and leaves the store.

    The planet-Early morning hours

    (Kit)

‘Good morning, Baby sis.’=She reaches for a chair and sits down.

    (Bette)

‘Good morning, Kit.’=She smiles. ‘Today is going to be a good day.’=She looks out onto the patio and smiles.

    (Kit)

‘What’s gotten into you and please don’t say, Jodi.’=Bette stops smiling. She looks confused.

    (Bette)

    ‘And if it was?’

    (Kit)

‘I thought you were through with her. You tried out the New York thing and it’s evident that you two are too much alike. One has to be strong and the other a little beneath, ok. It gives the relationship a good balance. You know the same balance a battery needs to operate.’

    (Bette)

It’s really none of your business.’

    (Kit)

‘Well you make it my business every time you call talking about her. What does that lead me to believe?’

    (Bette)

‘Lets change the subject.’=She sighs. Alice enters the café. Bette sinks lower in her seat. ’ Good–’

    (Alice)

‘Save it!’=She sits down in a chair. ’Hey, Kit.’

    (Kit)

‘Hey, miss thang. Can I get you a coffee or a latte?’

    1. Cute story! I loved the ending. Nothing would please me more than a Bette and Jodi break-up with a Bette and Tina make-up this year. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and I wish you a happy and prosperous New Year.
