    Tina – Did you notice who is there? Alice – Where? The producer points to Cindy with her eyes. Alice – Yeah … She sighs.   Tina – So, is it over? Alice – Yep, I’m into Mark now. Tina gives her a sly smile.  Alice – We are going to double date with Meg and Brian, didn’t you know? Tina –

    Tina – Did you notice who is there?

    Alice – Where?

    The producer points to Cindy with her eyes.

    Alice – Yeah …

    She sighs.  

    Tina – So, is it over?

    Alice – Yep, I’m into Mark now.

    Tina gives her a sly smile. 

    Alice – We are going to double date with Meg and Brian, didn’t you know?

    Tina – Yes, Meg told me. Are you sure you are into him?

    Alice – Yep, I am!

    Tina – What are you doing here then?

    Alice – Well … I can still look, right? I’m not dead!

    Tina – Right …

    Alice – You know what? I haven’t been with a man in … almost four years. It’s a little intimidating …

    The producer chuckles.

    Tina – They haven’t changed … believe me!

    Alice – So … do you think I should wait a while to have sex with him?

    Tina – A while?

    Alice – Well, you know … I don’t want to be slutty, since he is a friend of Brad and Meg’s …

    Tina – Just do what comes natural, Al. Don’t force yourself one way or the other.

    Alice – It’s easy for you to say, Miss Proper!

    Tina – Who says I am proper?

    Her friend raises an eyebrow.

    Alice – Oh … so you are not?

    Tina – For your information, Miss Pieszecki, Bette and I slept together before we ever dated.

    Alice – Alright, Miss Lovebird! That’s what I’m talking about!

    Tina – And I don’t regret it a bit! It was magical …

    Alice – If it feels right, it’s right! But you and Bette were crazy in love from the first minute you saw each other! That doesn’t count!

    Tina smiles pensively.

    Tina – Yeah … we were crazy in love …

    Alice – Well, for me and Mark … it’s not crazy love … we just click, you know?

    Alice gazes at Cindy wistfully.

    Alice – What a shame, though …

    The producer turns to her and notices that she is talking about Cindy.

    Alice – She is so good in bed … and those muscles …

    Tina – She has great muscles.

    Alice – She reminds me of Bette …

    Tina raises an eyebrow.

    Alice – Don’t look at me with these eyes. You were not the only one to find the Holy Grail.

    Her friend rolls her eyes.

    Tina – Apparently everyone else found it before me.

    1. Cute…. Alice is still Alice. She still cannot believe that Bette treats Tina differently from any other woman she has dated. Tina has no faults in Bette’s eyes….

    4. dbff, I’m so with you concerning Melvin/Bette. I never could quite understand why she accepted his condescending, arrogant behaviour. Even if you love your parents unconditionally, you can expect them to treat the person you love at least with respect and you should tell your parents to do so.
      But as you said, you’re writing a prequel so I’m fearing for the worst when it comes to their visit in Philly on Thanksgiving.

      Thank you so much for another cute chapter! Tina’s efforts to open up and include Bette more in her day-to-day life made me smile. She’s really getting confident with being with a woman. Next step: exchange of keys to the other’s home ;-)
