    Getting the kids out of the house

    All you need is love

     

    Chapter 66

    “Joshua Porter – if you do not put that sweater on in the next ten seconds you will be shoving snow for the next four hours and not going out with Paul and Ollie “ Bette stood in the doorway of her second sons room and issued the dire warning.

     

    The young boy let out a sigh that indicated that he thought his mother was being UTTERLY unreasonable and picked the sweater off the floor where he had kicked it hoping that his mother would not see it and allow him to go out in just jeans and a shirt. Dan emerged from his room to watch the fun of Josh being in trouble as per usual. He was wearing exactly what his mother had told him to wear – warm trousers, warm boots, a polo neck sweater and another sweater on top of that – he was carrying his thick jacket and his rucksack

     

    “I think you should make him clear snow in what he’s wearing “ Dan said to Bette.

     

    Bette raised an eyebrow at Dan “ You wouldn’t want your brother to be sick over Christmas would you ?”

     

    “No – of course not “ Dan lied

     

    “Because its going to be a great Christmas with Tina and the girls and everyone round here all the time – you really wouldn’t want Josh to be in bed feeling ill and miss all the fun “

    “No “ Dan said smiling brightly

     

    Bette didn’t believe him

     

    “Josh – Dan wants you to be sick so he can eat more of the food and play with your toys “

     

    “He would – pig “

     

    “Josh – that is not a word I like to hear from you – please put on that sweater now “

     

    Josh glared at Dan and put the sweater on – if Dan wanted him to be sick -he was going to annoy him by not being sick. Bette chuckled – there were ways of making Josh do what she wanted even if he was still too young to know that she was capable of tricking him.

     

    “And the boots as well please “

    2. B and T are just made for each other both planning to propose, but looks like Bette is going to beat Tina to the punch and I bet she has already found the perfect house too. Gosh I don’t know which story to vote for, I think I will be happy with any one of them as long as we get a little bit of all of them over the next 16 days.

    3. Snow shoveling is punishment? No Ally, it’s simply what you do in order to leave the house. We had many shovels when I was a kid, the theory being that many hands make light work. Unless the snow is wet, then it weighs a ton. Which is why I live in an apartment building. But I already have my boots on. The snow started a couple of hours ago and the forecasters (hedging their bets all the while) are calling for about 9 inches by early Monday morning. Well, they agree on white gold. Too bad they weren’t thinking of the same night. I was kind of hoping for simultaneous proposals.

    5. I vote for another chapter of this story. Great update Ally as usual. I am really enjoying this story and it’s taking place at the right time of year. So it’s a race to see who proposes to who first….B & T at their best….you just gotta love it!

    20. I do love this story and it was a great chapter. Both of them planning to propose and it looks as though Bette will get to propose first, Christmas Eve. How fitting, proposing during the season of love, happiness and all the warmth one can endure. Just Great. As for the next post, I always want this one but whatever you choose is fine, as long as it involves Bette, Tina and love I’m okay with whichever one you choose. PPS

    22. i got upgraded on my committment ring from my woman fri night. when i gave her her ring i was working as a valet, didnt make much money. very inexpensive rings weve been wearing. she upgraded mine to a very beautiful white gold also. it was very nice night. thanks.
