“Over the years, I’ve helped a lot of athlete’s in different sports step up their game. I was the assistant coach for the tennis team about ten years ago, but I am semi-retired now. I’m helping Coach Marshall until they find a replacement for one of their trainers but most of the time, I’m usually here Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays.”
“That probably explains why we’ve haven’t run into each other. I am usually here Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am actually looking to enhance my gym routine. My goal is to up the speed of my serve my 2 miles per hour by the end of the season and 10 by next season…”
For the next fifteen minutes, Dana went over her normal routine with Sam and he agreed to help her create a new routine.
When Alice, found Dana after she finished her interview she stopped dead in her tracks in awe of her friend.
Dana had a pretty steady rhythm on the speed bag going. Her veins were doing that popping thing and her body was beginning to get a nice sheen of sweat as she continued. Alice, had never seen a sexier sight in her entire life.
Banishing those thoughts quickly from her head, Alice approached her friend and gave her a woof-whistle.
“I can’t leave you alone for a second before you decide to train huh?”
Dana gave the speed bag one more good hit before turning to her friend and giving her a goofy smile.
“How did the interview go?”
“Sigh, let’s not go there. I need some coffee before class…”
“You always need coffee, Al. I don’t think drinking all that caffeine is healthy…”
“AH! The h-word. You know I hate that word. Never ever say that in my presence ever again…”
“Alice, don’t be such a baby. Being healthy is not…”
Alice put her hands over her ears and started to walk away from the brunette. “I’m not listening! Double-doubles, coffee, and alcohol is all I need… Double-doubles, coffee, and alcohol is all I need…”
The athlete rolled her eyes at her friend’s antics. I am so switching her to decaf.

LMAO! ‘Now all i have to do is actually call her’ That was great, i’m really liking that Alice and Dana are on the friends level and Dana is getting more comfortable around her new friend while still managing to be her clumsy, cute self. Another excellent post A, thanks so much
Glad to see Jamie was there to help D figuring out what she wanted. D was true to her form when asking Lara to go out. lol. It was still early in the game. Therefore I wouldn’t mind D dating other people. It would be good for her. I am very happy that A & D were becoming good friends and were hanging out together. The coffee comment was funny too. Keep up your good work, anionayo. Thank you.
Dana asking Lara out is one of my favorite non-Danish moments on the show. The whole scene was funny and cute, but the “No problem” at the end is priceless. I’m happy for Dana, she needs some action, lol… Seriously, it’s only a date, it doesn’t have to turn into something more, right? …”I don’t speak athlete”… “The h-word. You know I hate that word”… LOL … Alice rocks!!! And so do you!!! Post soon!!!
Dress run phone call — too funny! The real call was perfect. You have a great handle on this young Dana. I love those touches you do with her. You are also doing an amazing job with the Alice/Dana interaction at this stage. Love Sam and how it shows how relaxed Dana is when she is in her element. Can’t wait to see what you have next!
