    Chapter 10 – Tuesday – Daniel’s Test and Marilyn’s Visit

Tina:  Yeah, I know. We made significant progress but we are still going to have a busy three weeks.

Bette:  Would it be alright with you if I made reservations for Angie to take her driving test Friday or Saturday next week? If she completes her hours on Friday morning, we could take her directly to the license place and she could take her test and possibly have that out of the way.

Tina: Oh Bette, I don’t know. That going to put a bit of pressure on her.

Bette:  I have signed her and Dan up for golf lessons for the next two weeks. And that all the time we have. I would hate for them to miss a lesson just to let Angie go get her license. That’s the other thing. She’s going to get a car and only have two weeks with it.  Have we made a mistake?

Tina:  No sweetie, we did the right thing. Good ahead and make the appointment. We just won’t tell her until midweek or so. Yeah, I think that’s best. She’s been driving in Arizona, so she not a rank beginner. I think it will be fine.

Bette: Thanks T.  Are you alright?

Tina:  Stressed… so much to do and not much time. We will have Angie’s room cleaned out except for the desk. And that may have to wait until we come back in late August. I’m going to try to get Angie to go through it, but there isn’t anything she needs to take to New Haven with her.

Bette:  That’s fine, we can handle it then. Just get her ready for New Haven. That’s your job. Everything else is secondary. God, I wish I was there with you.

Tina:  No, you need to be right where you are. You going shopping this afternoon?

Bette:  Oh god yes. I need to get out the brochure on the uniforms for Daniel. I guess we will take care of that this afternoon.  We have the doctor tomorrow. Maybe I’ll get Jeanette to meet us somewhere to purchase his guitars and violin tomorrow morning.  And we will find out tomorrow if Dan is going to be a sixth grader or not. This school is efficient. Ms. Margaret Miller is a no-nonsense principal.  I think you are going to like her.

    1. Thank you… another chapter coming soon.. Couple of days…

As to the growth? I always imagined that as time passed, Bette and Tina would grow more in tuned with each other. They would grow to accept the other for who they were and their idiosyncrasies would become less bothersome for that is what defines them. As they become more knowledgeable of their mate, and more accepting of who they are, the more at peace they would become with themselves and the life they had chosen.
