    Chapter 10 – Tuesday – Daniel’s Test and Marilyn’s Visit

Tina:  Oh, sweetie. I’m glad you did. What affects you and Dan affects me too. Just let me think about for a few hours. We will come to a solution. I love you sweetie. Thanks for calling.

Bette:  I love you, Tina. Talk to you later.

Bette sent an email to George Schultz.

    Dr Schultz

I am in need an apartment or a condo to rent or purchase near the UCLA campus. My spouse and I are looking for a home but we are in need of housing at least temporarily by September 1st.  Do you know of anyone who could help me?  Looking for a three-bedroom unit. Will consider almost anything.

    Bette Kennard-Porter

Bette then started to study the map.  She noticed that Santa Monica was not too far from UCLA.  Perhaps they could find something there. The problem was that everything that was something that was decent, was rather pricey. In fact, some of the properties meet their needs except that they had no yard but lots of decks and a view of the ocean. Most condo had access to a pool. Some had two car garages. Maybe they would put Angie’s car in a storage unit until just before she came home or until they found the home of their dreams. She then got out Dan’s lap top and started checking out condos and commercial property in Santa Monica.

Just as Bette was getting in her searches, Ms. Miller came in with her paper work. She came and sat down at the table with Bette and smiled.

Ms. Miller:  Ms. Kennard-Porter, I want to thank you for bringing Daniel to our school. He really is a bright young man. We have already graded his first two test and let me say that he scored in the 5th percentile of all students we have tested and the 2nd percentile of those who have finished the fifth grade here at Whittington.  According to Mr. Clarke, he completed the test several minutes ahead of time but was using his remaining time to check his work. That is rare. Most do not complete the either of these tests. Your son will be in the sixth grade even if he flunks the next two test he takes. But for some reason, I don’t think that is going to happen.

    1. Thank you… another chapter coming soon.. Couple of days…

As to the growth? I always imagined that as time passed, Bette and Tina would grow more in tuned with each other. They would grow to accept the other for who they were and their idiosyncrasies would become less bothersome for that is what defines them. As they become more knowledgeable of their mate, and more accepting of who they are, the more at peace they would become with themselves and the life they had chosen.
