Chapter 10 – Tuesday – Daniel’s Test and Marilyn’s Visit
Bette: You will have them even if I have to fly to New York and camp on that doctor’s doorstep until I get them. He does not want that to happen, for it will not be pleasant.
Ms. Miller smiled: It has been a pleasure meeting you and Daniel. When he is completed his test, you are finished for the day. We will see you at orientation.
Bette: Thank you Ms. Miller. Thank you for all you have done for Daniel and for my family.
Bette resumed her computer searches. She then remembered she need to call Jeanette.
Jeanette: Bette? I wondered when you were going to call. Are we still on for the weekend?
Bette: Oh absolutely. I will email you the flight information. You need to meet me and Daniel at baggage claim at the time that Tina’s plane is due in. It’s going to be an early morning for you. We will load your car with the luggage and the kids and you’ll be off for your weekend.
Jeanette: Sounds good. What else can I do for you?
Bette: Are you free tomorrow morning to do a little shopping?
Jeanette: Sure! Is this for music instruments?
Bette: Yes, a couple of guitars, amps, head phones, silencers or whatever to keep the sound from blasting us away, an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar and a violin. You tell us where to meet you and we will be there. Now Dan has a doctor’s appointment at 1:30 so we have to be finished by lunch.
Jeanette: Did Dan get into Whittington?
Bette: Yes, he did. We are going for uniforms as soon as he finishes his test.
Jeanette: Okay let me do some checking around. I’ll send you an email. We will meet at 9:00 am at the store I select. I want to make sure they have some in stock before we get there.
Bette: Oh, thank you Jeanette so much! You’re the best almost sister-in-law in the world. I’ll get that email off to you now. I’ll be looking for yours. Thanks Jeanette talk to you soon.
Bette turned back to her searches.
New York – Tuesday afternoon.
Tina and Angie worked on going through the clothes she had designated to go to New Haven. Tina insisted that she take out at least three pair of jeans. She could send them to Los Angeles or to charity. She insisted that she remove two dressy outfits and several dresses. She would not have the room. She then asked her about her winter coats and the outfits she could wear on snowy days. She had a full-length wool coat and a heavy parka. She planned to wear jeans or khakis, a shirt and sweater and hiking boots. Tina asked about winter socks and potentially a set of long john underwear. Angie admitted that might be a good idea. Walking to class in temperatures in the 20’s might require more insulation on her body. Tina asked about head gear and gloves. Angie thought she could use some new gloves and maybe a ski cap or two. Tina promised her a couple new winter pants suit in wool which she could wear with her dress boots for dressy occasions. She could choose a number of blouses with it to dress it up. She could wear her full-length coat over it and would be ready for most any occasion for the winter. This pleased Angie. They would buy some additional blouses, sweaters and socks as well.

Excellent chapter. Enjoying the growth in Bette and Tina & the family. Post soon!
Thank you… another chapter coming soon.. Couple of days…
As to the growth? I always imagined that as time passed, Bette and Tina would grow more in tuned with each other. They would grow to accept the other for who they were and their idiosyncrasies would become less bothersome for that is what defines them. As they become more knowledgeable of their mate, and more accepting of who they are, the more at peace they would become with themselves and the life they had chosen.
