Chapter 10 – Tuesday – Daniel’s Test and Marilyn’s Visit
Marilyn: So how is life in California young lady?
Angie: Well, there are a lot more outdoor activities. It has been an interesting summer. I have been spending a lot of time with Daniel. I am enjoying doing things with him. I’m really going to miss him when I go to school.
Marilyn: Well, you’ll see him when you go home for weekends and holidays.
Angie: I have discovered that I won’t be able to go home for weekends. It’s just too far and takes too much time. It will take about 10 hours one way to get home and then 10 hours to get back. So, in a 48-hour period, it’s hardly worth the effort or the expense. So, we are all figuring that the first time I’ll go home is Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Marilyn: Well, sweetie, if you need to get away for a weekend, you can bring a friend and come stay with me for a weekend. I’ll provide you a place to stay and a break from your routine. I’m sure you will find something to do to entertain yourself in New York City. You will always be welcomed in my home sweetie. If I’m not home for some reason, and you just need a crash pad, we can arrange that too. You can get here by train in a couple of hours.
Angie: Thank you Grandma Marilyn. I will keep that in mind. I just may take you up on that. I may just need a quiet place to study for my exams. Dorm rooms may not always be conducive to study.
Tina: Bette and I have been telling her about some of our college experiences. I think Uncle Sonny has talked about his experiences as well. Not all students remember why they are there, especially freshman.
The doorman held the door open to the car and ladies climbed in.
Helena: Tonight ladies, we are going to some place very special. We deserved a celebration and I know the place.
Tina: This is not going to be one of those Peggy Peabody type evenings, is it?
Marilyn: What do you mean Tina?
Tina: Whenever we were with Peggy for a celebratory dinner, there was always more liquid served than food. And we seemed to always have a huge hangover the next day. They were wonderful occasions but the next morning was hell.

Excellent chapter. Enjoying the growth in Bette and Tina & the family. Post soon!
Thank you… another chapter coming soon.. Couple of days…
As to the growth? I always imagined that as time passed, Bette and Tina would grow more in tuned with each other. They would grow to accept the other for who they were and their idiosyncrasies would become less bothersome for that is what defines them. As they become more knowledgeable of their mate, and more accepting of who they are, the more at peace they would become with themselves and the life they had chosen.
