    Chapter 10 – Tuesday – Daniel’s Test and Marilyn’s Visit

Marilyn:  I should say… you have. Maybe we should get you another drink?

Tina: No, I’m fine.  We now have three weeks to get everything done before we come back here to New York to complete our move and move Angie to New Haven. And we still have a lot to do in that amount of time.  Bette and I did not realize how much we had to do until late into our reunion week. And we have pretty much been running full out ever since.

Dylan:  And how did Bette’s interview go?

Tina:  Bette got the job!  She is going to be a full Professor in the Fines Arts School of UCLA. I don’t think all the paperwork is finished, but she will have an orientation on August 13th through the 15th.  And Daniel has been accepted at Whittington Elementary School and the principal as told Bette that Daniel will be in the sixth grade.

Angie:   Really!  You didn’t tell me that Mom!  Go Daniel!

Tina:  Well, Daniel was still taking test when she was told. I’m sorry honey, I did not want to tell you until she had an opportunity to tell Daniel. She was planning on telling him on the way to shop for his uniforms.

Marilyn:  Wow, it sounds like Bette has just as much to do in LA as you do here.

Tina:  Yes, she does, if not more. But we are making good progress on our to do list. And now that Marilyn wants to buy the apartment, that is just one more thing we can check off of our to do list. But there are still a few things to do to make that happen. Frankly, I don’t remember moving to New York was this complicated. But I’m sure it was.

Helena:  Tina, you had one less child then and your child was younger than Daniel at the time. Meeting the needs of an additional person means more task to do.

Tina: Well, if I had to make the decision on this again, I definitely make the same decision. I think the work required is going to be highly worth it in benefits we are going to gain. It’s going to be an amazing life for all of us.

    1. Thank you… another chapter coming soon.. Couple of days…

As to the growth? I always imagined that as time passed, Bette and Tina would grow more in tuned with each other. They would grow to accept the other for who they were and their idiosyncrasies would become less bothersome for that is what defines them. As they become more knowledgeable of their mate, and more accepting of who they are, the more at peace they would become with themselves and the life they had chosen.
