“Shaney..” Shane looked toward Tina “There is someone here I would like you to meet. This is my main man…my son Colin… Colin this is Momma’s friend Shane.”
“Well hello there good lookin’”
“It’s nice to meet you” Colin said shyly.
“What a charmer… Tina your gonna have to watch out. This one’s gonna have the little girls fallin’ at his feet.” Shane said as she ruffled Colin’s hair.
“How long will you be here Auntie Shane” Haily asked.
“Well Ley Ley.. I’m not just visiting. I’m moving back home.” Both girls cheered!
“All right you three in the car… You will have plenty of time to torment your Aunt Shane. She’s staying for dinner tonight.”
The girls continued to cheer as the crawled up into their seats.
The ride home was far from silent as Shane and the girls caught up, and Colin started to warm up to Shane, and it continued once they got home as Tina fixed dinner. Tina was thrilled when Colin drug Shane into the kitchen to show off his drawings of their family. She knew that Shane would be a part of their family for a long time to come.
As the hour grew later Tina’s worry grew stronger. It was nearly dinner time and Bette still was not home, and she had not heard anything from her. As she reached for her phone to call her Tina heard the front door.
“Honey I’m home.”
“I’m in the kitchen babe.”
Bette dropped her bag and made her way to the kitchen. “Wow honey, dinner smells great.”
she said as she came around the corner into the kitchen where she was met by a less than happy Tina.
Bette immediately knew the reason for Tina’s long face. “Baby… I’m sorry I’m so late.”
“I was worried about you Bette…. you could have called.”
“T… honey I should have.. when the meeting got out I just wanted to get home to you. I’m sorry”
“Bette I was really worried, you didn’t even call to let me know you couldn’t get the kids. I didn’t know if something was wrong with you or the baby.” Tina said as the tears started to fall.
“Oh baby.. I’m sorry I made you worry. I am fine, and the baby is fine.” Bette wrapped her arms around Tina. “I’m sorry baby… I missed you so much the only thing I was thinking about was getting home to you.” she whispered in Tina’s ear.
“I missed you to babe.”

Hey TB513, Thank you for this interesting chapter. Yes, it was great to have Shane introduced into this tender tale. Sweet to have her as Tina’s friend first. My thoughts were she was Alice’s friend first then Bette and Tina’s. No worries, although Bette should have called. Doesn’t she have a hands-free set up in her car. If not then Tee needs to sort it out and sort it out soon. Now can’t wait for Bette and Shane to meet. It will either be like lost friends uniting or pistols at dawn. Please continue soon. Your Fan.

That last scene was so heart warming, it’s a great feeling when you have a significant one to come home to, someone who cares about you that much “sigh” . Thank you so much T, you are wonderful and each chapter is as good as the rest, I hope Shane and Bette will get along well. Post soon T Love
