    the Going Away Party

    Dana looked up at Carmen and just let it out, ” I don’t think I should go. I know its this big deal for my career and allbut Alice is my life. How could I leave her behind Carmen? I couldn’t do that to her again?”

    Carmen put a hand on Dana’s, ” Dana, Alice is a big girl, she can handle a lot more than she used to be able to. And I hate to say it, but that’s thanks to you leaving her the first time around. She can handle this, and if she couldn’t, you know Alice, she would’ve said something already”.

    Dana shook her head, ” I know. I just don’t know what I’m gonna do”.

    Alice was laying on the couch, tired from the day of shopping and planning. She called all their close friends and arranged a small party at the Planet. Shane and her talked for a good hour and now she was just awaiting Dana’s arrival. She felt her eye lids slowly closing but just before they shut she heard the door opening. Dana walked in with an apologetic smile and walked over to Alice and gave her a kiss, then without saying a word Alice shifted her position so that Dana could hold her from behind. Dana held Alice tightly and kissed her on the cheek as Alice closed her eyes, ” sorry I’m late baby, it’s justsomeone stood me up for a good 6 hours today” she said playfully.

    Alice smiled happily knowing that Dana wasn’t upset, ” I’m so sorry baby, there was a lot to do”.

    Dana kissed Alice again, ” you don’t have to throw this party you know? We could just spend the next few days togetherat homein the bedroomnaked”.

    Alice smiled and turned around to face Dana, pushed her down against the couch and straddled her, ” is that right Fairbanks?”

    Dana pulled Alice in for a kiss, and then broke it just when she felt it getting heated, ” actuallyI just want to hold you Alice. I could hold you forever you know that?” she said with tears in her eyes.

    Alice came down to kiss her tears away, ” please don’t cry baby,” she whispered as she felt the tears roll down her cheeks.

    6. I just love this story, it´s sweet, heartbreaking and I really feel for Alice. Hopefully she´ll accept the proposal and they´ll be able to manage being apart for a great deal of time.
