    the Going Away Party

    Dana’s tears started to come down even faster as soon as she saw Alice’s tears, ” I don’t want to leave you Al”.

    Alice remembered what she had talked about with Shane, ” I can wait for you baby. I can visit, you can visit, it wont be a whole year Dane, we can do this. I’m not gonna let you mess up your career Dane, you’ve worked too hard for it. You’re going, and I’m gonna make you”.

    Dana pulled Alice into her arms as she bawled her eyes out, she couldn’t hold it in anymore. She needed to cry and she needed to feel Alice, knowing that within a few days, she wouldn’t be able to. The tears wouldn’t stop, just when she thought they would, she would look into Alice eyes, and cry some more. She was going to leave, and she was going to do it without her Alice.

    That night, they slept in each others’ arms, holding onto each other like their lives depended on it. However this time, their lives did depend on it, at least their lives together.

    Dana woke up from possibly the best sleep she’d ever had in her entire life. She reached over to Alice’s side of the bed and felt a piece of paper. Dana grabbed it and read it,

    “Dana,

    Had to go and get the party ready! Make sure you’re ready by 5:15 for Shane, she’s gonna pick you up. See you in a few hours baby.

    Love

    Alice”

    Dana unconsciously smiled at the small note, then rubbed her eyes and looked at the clock, it was already 3 in the afternoon. She stood up and walked over to the kitchen, but just before she could open up the refrigerator the buzzer rang and she rushed over to the door hoping it would be Alice. But when she opened the door she was greeted by someone else.

    Bette held out the dress for Dana, ” disappointed?”

    Dana smiled and closed the door, “I thought you were Alice”.

    Bette laughed, ” yeah I can tell. You know I haven’t had the chance to talk to you about this whole thing”.

    Dana nodded and put her dress down and sat next to it, ” I know”.

    6. I just love this story, it´s sweet, heartbreaking and I really feel for Alice. Hopefully she´ll accept the proposal and they´ll be able to manage being apart for a great deal of time.
