Just The Girl – Chapter Eight (a HYD-inspired fic)
Sam looked down at her feet and played with the laces on her sneakers. "Yeah.. she bailed on our lunch date to meet with an ex."
"I didn’t know you guys were together." Tina said thoughtfully.
"We’re not." Sam answered sadly. "We’re just friends." She added with a little bit of bitterness in her tone.
"Just friends?" Tina repeated. Wow, she could definitely relate to that one. "But you’re in love with her right?"
"Ever heard of unrequited love?" Sam sighed.
Tina smiled a little, of course she did. She was experiencing it right now. "Yeah." She brought her legs up to her chest and embraced them with her arms. "Does she know how you feel?"
"Yes." Sam answered. "She does." She whispered. "I kinda slipped and confessed two years ago."
"And.." Tina prodded.
Sam sighed as she continued. "She told me that she needed time and that we should wait and see where it would go." She looked at Tina sadly. "And now its two years later and she still treats me like a friend. In her eyes, I’m still her little childhood friend Tina. I don’t think she ever saw past that.."
"Do you think she will?"
"I hope so." Sam smiled.
"So what will you do?"
"I’ll wait." The brunette answered without hesitation.
"That’s romantic of you."
"I know." Sam grinned before breaking out into a laugh.
*RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGG*
The bell signaling the end of the lunch break interrupted their conversation. Tina gingerly pushed herself up and smoothed her skirt. "That’s my signal to leave.." She nodded to the red door and smiled. "You coming?" She asked Sam.
Sam merely smiled in response.
Tina rolled her eyes. "I forgot.. you guys just come and go into class as you please." Tina furrowed her brows. "Don’t you ever get in trouble for that? Tardy slips or anything?"
"Nope." Sam shrugged and smiled. "The teachers love us." She joked.
"Yeah right. You know they’re scared of F4." Tina laughed. "Anyway, I better go. Bye Sam!" Tina said as she ran towards the door.
"Bye Tina. Thanks for everything." Sam closed her eyes again as she yawned. She was ready for her nap.

I’m really enjoying this story so far, and can’t wait for Bette to stop being such an ass and make it right! Although I feel Tina’s going to take A LOT of persuasion to get her head round this one! pps x
way to go bette… thats one way to win someone over… i was wondering if sam was going to come to her rescue… but was happy to see bette stop that shit too… wow what a story… and i’m loving it… thanks for answering my questions… PPS
OMG my heart is pounding from that chapter! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I can’t believe Bette let Tina get hurt like that. Poor Tina! Time for Bette to pull her head out of her wazoo and do the right thing for once in her self absorbed life.
this is so good and love it!
Loved the way you portrayed their feelings, but my question is: Does this type of hazing and bullying really happen in american schools? Nothing like that even came close to that in my high school, hell, even country..
