Laid Up: Another Season 3 – Chapter 29B

Helena turned in Dylan’s arms and kissed her while Dylan unfastened Helena’s bra and pulled that off, too.  From the bathroom, Helena looked out into the main living area of their room.  Her eyes flitted over the bed, the chaise, the sofa, the floor.  “I’ll hold you to that when we return to our room this evening, yeah?”

Dylan laughed at her.  “Oh, yeah.  Dylan removed her bra and panties and entered the shower that was built so that it didn’t need a door or curtain, but water that spouted out from three separate shower heads—one on the ceiling and two on the walls each with several spray nozzles somehow kept the water inside the large stall.    She waited for Helena to remove her underwear and held her hand out to her.  Helena entered, too.

“I’ve wanted to be next to your body through that whole flight.  It feels positively lovely to be holding you right now.”

“I’ve wanted to hold you against me before I even knew you, Hel.  You’re what I was missing all of these years.”

Carmen and Shane were outside waiting for the Super Shuttle.  Kit was driving her old playa car and turned into Bette and Tina’s driveway.

“Bette?  Angelica’s home.  Kit and Angus just pulled up,” Tina called from the living room before walking out of the house to meet them.

Their suitcases, Angelica’s car seat, and other baby items were staged at the door.  Bette had already checked off every item they’d need.  Bette loved making lists and more than that, she loved ticking things off those lists.  They were ready to go.  Bette, however, was still typing on her laptop.  She had sent a few messages to James about what needed to be done while she was away, including getting her on Phyllis Kroll’s schedule first thing the following week.  She sent one message to her T.A., Nadia about a source for her book, and then one last email.  She was typing that when Tina walked in with Angelica.

“Angie?  Where’s Mama B?  Where is she?”  Tina pointed at Bette who turned around and then stood.

“Hello, Angelica."  Bette said as she approached them.  "Your Mamas missed you.  Did you miss us?  How’s my little boo-boo?”  Bette held out her arms to take Angelica.  Tina kissed the back of Angelica’s head after handing her off and rubbed her back while they stood together as a family becoming reacquainted after an evening without each other.

    1. ‘ she looked at Tina and playfully accused, “Cougar.” ‘ – LOL – Tina certainly has come a long way from the first pages of ‘Laid Up’. – PortiaO, Thank you very much for producing all those wonderful pages!

    2. OH MY FUCKING GOD… that was … i have no words… i wish it didn’t end… that a scene i pray we see in the last eppy… loved it… and what a book you have here… it took a while to read… but i did…

    3. Wow, I don’t know what to say. The detail you give to each character and storyline is breathtaking. What a beautiful imagination you have. I love your writing so much that I even wanted Helena’s and Dylan’s past life story to never end :). I’m a little bit nervous that someting will happen to Shay before Shane can take custody. Who’s the mystery man at Alice and Dana’s wedding? A long lost relative of Alice’s? Wow, Bette and Tina, effing hot. Thank you so much for the update. Don’t be gone too long :)

    4. Portia… translating “thank you” into all the known languages on this planet wouldn’t be enough at this point. I know I type it, and I certainly mean it, but it lacks… I don’t know anything else to say but that, though. So, again, thank you. You manage to get everything in there, and I don’t know why, but the “Sweatin to the 80’s” line made me giggle, a lot. You have a very visual style of writing, I’m right there with the characters. I see them, hear them perfectly. I love the way you write, I love this story. Thanks (again) for sharing with us.

    5. Yes, you’ve got me googling folks that don’t exist. You’ve created an entire world, fleshed it out and populated it with people whose lives are fully integrated into it. You’ve made TLW, “Do what it (should)do”.

    6. I have totally been floored by this story!! this last chapter totally knocked my socks off!!! I’m so glad Bette had the change of heart about mo…. this should be really interesting! PPS

    7. I miss this story. :( It’s so awesome and realistic. And it shows so much growth in the characters while staying true to them at the same time. And the storylines are just fantastic. *sigh* Yeah, I miss this story.
