    Bette, Tina, Dana, Alice, Shane, Carmen, Helena, Dylan, Kit, Angus, Peggy, and Marilyn discover what John Lennon said in the song, “Beautiful Boy” is absolutely true: “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.”

    “He’s over there reading the paper,” one of Kit’s baristas said.

    “Angus?  Angus, baby?”

    He looked up.  “Hey, Kit.” 

    “Baby, I got some good news.  Some real good news.”

    Angus’ legs were stretched out and he had his feet up on the chair across from him.  He moved them quickly and sat up.  “What is it?  Sit.”

    Kit started to sit, but said, “I’m too excited.”

    Angus smiled at her.  She was a bundle of energy.  “Tell me.”

    She was looking down at him.  “I just got off the phone with Nona Hendryx.  ‘member last month when XM featured my career on their ‘70s channel?”

    “Yeah, they had your music and interviews and reviews, plus your new CD.  It was awesome.”

    “Uh-huh, yeah, so… The CD had dropped off the charts, but it did a re-entry and it started at freakin’ 68 on Billboard.  It’s still climbin’.  I wuhn’t even payin’ attention to it after the first time.  It’s been climbin’ steady.  This week, it’s gonna break the top 50.”

    Angus stood and grabbed her shoulders.  “Are you serious?  This is for real?”

    “Yeah.  Not only that, but word is…according to Nona… that in two weeks when the Grammy nominations come out I should expect to see my name in best album of the year and best female vocalist.”

    “Oh, my fucking God.  Kit!”  Angus stared at her for several seconds as it all sank in, then he grabbed her and twirled her around, making a spectacle of them in the middle of The Planet.  When he stopped twirling, with closed lips, he gave her a chaste, but long kiss.  “Congratulations, Kit.  Awesome.  You rock, girl.”

    Kit smiled at him.  She was embarrassed by the way he was carrying on, but she had to admit that she loved it.  He was giving her props in a way that no one had before.  She had dated musicians in the past and one thing she had noticed, they were an envious type.  Whenever something spectacular had happened to her career-wise, they responded in one of three ways—they were ready to take full responsibility for it and tell her that she couldn’t have done it without them, or tell her she didn’t deserve it, or just sulk for days on end about how people were somehow overlooking their impressive talent on the horn or the keyboards or as a vocalist.  They could never hide their disappointment.  Angus was just the opposite.  He was beaming.

My favourite couple have obviously been dana and alice, and you’ve written them and their story just perfectly, how it should have been, for me anyway.     6. Portia, thank you so much for this epic love story. I’m happy that all of the characters are happy and content. The loop holes that the show had created, you have thoroughly patched. That for me is remarkable. Jenny’s death in season 5 and her magazine being thrown in the pool – what can I say, your attention to detail is a gold standard in fanfic. Kudos to you and also Wendy for creating this wonderful story.

    13. I read this chapter as slowly as I could so that I could savor every word of it. It was worth me taking the time, although I was fully aware that each time I clicked “Next page” I was that much closer to the finish. This was a fantastic end to such a richly layered story. Everyone got their ending, and each and every one of them earned it… the struggles each couple/family had to overcome to get to their happiness made it all the more believable. You didn’t cheat, Portia, not the readers, not the story. This has been such an absolute treat to read, through all the highs and lows, and I’ve loved every single word of it. (And kudos for not forgetting Jenny this chapter! heh) Thank you, Portia, for writing this story and taking us on the journey with you. Take care, and I hope we see another story from you soon.

    18. well after about a month and a half im finally finish with your story and as I wrote you before I truly believe you are a gift to writing and taking readers along for the experience. I had to stop several times for work or sleep but it was well worth the time. I prolonged finishing the last chapter didn’t want t see it end, but like the L word, like tibette chemistry, all good things but come to end….Bravo!! my friend I hope to see a book with your name on it forreal..til next story………

You did an absolutely remarkable job with this. The story telling, the storyline, the interweaving of the characters, seasons, cannon and AU was beyond incredible. You have amazing talent and I hope to read more of your incredible work. Amazingly done!
