Bette turned, put her leg up on the bed akimbo so that it lay flat and sort of made the number four. She said to Tina, “Do you remember that book we read by Victor Frankl?”
“Man’s Search for Meaning? Yeah. Are you saying that this is what gives me meaning…this career thing?” Tina shook her head and corrected her. “You and Angie and the baby give me meaning, Bette.”
“No, that’s not what I was going to say. Do you remember that line in the book—Live as if you were living already for the second time and as if you had acted the first time as wrongly as you are about to act now. Remember that?”
“So I should say yes? You think that turning Helena down is the wrong decision?”
“Tina, you pulled together the money to buy the rights to Twisted Forest. For what? To sit on it for five years or more? If nothing else, get that made. Helena and Dylan are offering something that Peggy wouldn’t and-and you’ve worked with Dylan. If you say no, don’t you think you’ll regret it?”
Tina nodded slowly. “Yeah, I do. If I said no, I’d always wonder about the missed opportunity and probably kick myself over it. It’s just…I wouldn’t think twice if it was here in LA.”
“We both love New York. If you say yes, I’ll get the house on the market on Monday. We can have Helena look for a place. We can fly out to see a few houses, and Peggy can scout gallery locations for me. I’ll call Adams Fine Art Movers and set up a tentative move date. It’s not going to be an earth-shattering event.”
“You sound like you’ve made up your mind, like it’s something you really want. You’re really serious about this?”
“I’m sick of LA, to tell you the truth. I’m sick of the pettiness and the gossipy, incestual way of this town. A change will do us good. Look, this past year we-we started over and our… relationship…has changed. I’m not telling you to go pick up my suits from the dry cleaner or expecting my meals when I get home or…”

My favourite couple have obviously been dana and alice, and you’ve written them and their story just perfectly, how it should have been, for me anyway. Portia, thank you so much for this epic love story. I’m happy that all of the characters are happy and content. The loop holes that the show had created, you have thoroughly patched. That for me is remarkable. Jenny’s death in season 5 and her magazine being thrown in the pool – what can I say, your attention to detail is a gold standard in fanfic. Kudos to you and also Wendy for creating this wonderful story.

I read this chapter as slowly as I could so that I could savor every word of it. It was worth me taking the time, although I was fully aware that each time I clicked “Next page” I was that much closer to the finish. This was a fantastic end to such a richly layered story. Everyone got their ending, and each and every one of them earned it… the struggles each couple/family had to overcome to get to their happiness made it all the more believable. You didn’t cheat, Portia, not the readers, not the story. This has been such an absolute treat to read, through all the highs and lows, and I’ve loved every single word of it. (And kudos for not forgetting Jenny this chapter! heh) Thank you, Portia, for writing this story and taking us on the journey with you. Take care, and I hope we see another story from you soon.

well after about a month and a half im finally finish with your story and as I wrote you before I truly believe you are a gift to writing and taking readers along for the experience. I had to stop several times for work or sleep but it was well worth the time. I prolonged finishing the last chapter didn’t want t see it end, but like the L word, like tibette chemistry, all good things but come to end….Bravo!! my friend I hope to see a book with your name on it forreal..til next story………
