    Bette, Tina, Dana, Alice, Shane, Carmen, Helena, Dylan, Kit, Angus, Peggy, and Marilyn discover what John Lennon said in the song, “Beautiful Boy” is absolutely true: “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.”

     

    “I can’t believe we’re going to make love for the first time as parents-to-be.  Tell me if it feels different making love now that you’re pregnant.”  Dana sucked on Alice’s neck and the vein throbbed against her tongue. 

     

    “Ah-ah, oh, Dana.”  Alice’s arms slid down, her hands made parallel trails down Dana’s arms.  She pushed her closer and wiggled her soapy body against hers.  “You know, when we made love last night, I was pregnant.

     

    Dana’s face moved from Alice’s neck.  “Hey, yeah.  You’re right.  Did you feel different?”

     

    “No, did I feel different to you?”

     

    “You mean when I was inside you?”

     

    Alice nodded.

     

    “Yeah, maybe.  No, I guess not.  I’m not sure.”

     

    “Well, why don’t we rinse off and figure out if there’s a difference or not?” Alice suggested.

     

    Dana pulled the hand-held out of its cradle and turned Alice so that her back was to her.  She rinsed off her wife’s shoulders and back, let the water pour and trail down her backside, cleaning her legs and butt of the soap.  She turned her around again and rinsed her neck, chest, and breasts, then moved lower to wash off Alice’s abdomen.  Dana stuck her finger into Alice’s belly button.  “All clean there,” she said, and then moved the hand-held lower, past her waist, to her center.  Alice tilted her body forward and let the water beat down on her most sensitive area.  Almost immediately, she sighed.  She leaned against the shower wall and spread her legs.  Dana took the hard-to-miss hint.  Her aim stayed between the splayed legs and she turned the setting up a notch for a stronger pressure from the hand-held.

     

    “Umm,” Alice said.  “God, does pregnancy make you horny?”

     

    “You’re always horny,” Dana commented, moving the device away from Alice’s body briefly.

     

    “Put it back.  Please.”

     

    Dana did and she moved it closer to Alice’s bikini-waxed triangle.  The spray drummed rhythmically against Alice.  “Ah, Dana.”

     

    Alice reached up and pulled and pinched Dana’s breast. 

     

    “Al?” Dana said softly.  She was going to have a difficult time holding the hand-held if Alice continued her present course.  “Let’s just rinse off and get out.”

That for me is remarkable. Jenny’s death in season 5 and her magazine being thrown in the pool – what can I say, your attention to detail is a gold standard in fanfic. Kudos to you and also Wendy for creating this wonderful story.

    13. I read this chapter as slowly as I could so that I could savor every word of it. It was worth me taking the time, although I was fully aware that each time I clicked “Next page” I was that much closer to the finish. This was a fantastic end to such a richly layered story. Everyone got their ending, and each and every one of them earned it… the struggles each couple/family had to overcome to get to their happiness made it all the more believable. You didn’t cheat, Portia, not the readers, not the story. This has been such an absolute treat to read, through all the highs and lows, and I’ve loved every single word of it. (And kudos for not forgetting Jenny this chapter! heh) Thank you, Portia, for writing this story and taking us on the journey with you. Take care, and I hope we see another story from you soon.

    18. well after about a month and a half im finally finish with your story and as I wrote you before I truly believe you are a gift to writing and taking readers along for the experience. I had to stop several times for work or sleep but it was well worth the time. I prolonged finishing the last chapter didn’t want t see it end, but like the L word, like tibette chemistry, all good things but come to end….Bravo!! my friend I hope to see a book with your name on it forreal..til next story………

You did an absolutely remarkable job with this. The story telling, the storyline, the interweaving of the characters, seasons, cannon and AU was beyond incredible. You have amazing talent and I hope to read more of your incredible work. Amazingly done!
