    Bette, Tina, Dana, Alice, Shane, Carmen, Helena, Dylan, Kit, Angus, Peggy, and Marilyn discover what John Lennon said in the song, “Beautiful Boy” is absolutely true: “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.”

     

    “Oh,” Bette said softly.  Bette felt her nipples harden more and her hair tingled on her head.  She loved how Tina felt inside her.  “Yes.”  Her eyes opened slowly as she took more of Tina inside her, pushing back and sliding forward, pushing back against Tina’s knuckles, then moving away so Tina’s fingers didn’t fill her as much, only to slide back down on the digits.  Bette gritted her teeth; her head made slight little jerks as she and Tina worked together.

     

    “God, seriously, baby, you’re wetter than ever.”

     

    Bette sighed, but said nothing.

     

    “Is it me or the idea of curating Peggy’s collection in New York?”

     

    Bette hesitated, not moving for a few moments, and she laughed.  The chuckle turned to a pleasurable grimace at the feel of Tina’s fingers in her while she laughed.  She pushed back again, held her body there, kept Tina deep inside her, and then turned her head to look over her shoulder.  “Both…” She smiled.  “But mostly you.”

     

    Tina playfully slapped her ass cheek.  “I thought as much.”  She began to move faster in and out of Bette, building both of their needs.  Tina was fucking her rough and wild doggy-style the way Bette loved it.

     

    Breathlessly, Bette said, “Is it me or being a partner in a film studio?”  She sucked in breath when Tina’s fingers rubbed against the thicker patch inside her.  Bette felt Tina deliberately pressing and pushing against that one spot and her knees began to wobble.  “Oh, God,” she said softly.  “Oh, God.”

     

    “Filmmaking’s awesome, but you’re amazing.  It’s all about you, Bette.  All about you.  I love you.”

     

    "I love you, Tee.  So fucking much.  Baby, I love you."  Bette’s head fell back onto the pillow that she clenched in her fists as everything inside of her started to rise.  Her heart fluttered like butterflies on their way to a new home; all of her nerve endings, not just inside, or between her legs, or her nipples, but everything seemed to grow or ascend, taking on a different form while her stomach flipped and turned.  In a way, she felt like an out of control dirigible, rising and rising above the trees, into the sky, and moving far and fast from terra forma.  She had learned to let go with Tina; learned to give her everything.  At this moment, Bette used the Buddhist practice of Tonglen, breathing in and then breathing out all of her happiness as she had been taught on the Buddhist retreat, giving it to the universe.  Everyone should feel this good, she thought as she bit down on the pillow and groaned in ecstasy while her body trembled in orgasm.  Everyone.

That for me is remarkable. Jenny’s death in season 5 and her magazine being thrown in the pool – what can I say, your attention to detail is a gold standard in fanfic. Kudos to you and also Wendy for creating this wonderful story.

    13. I read this chapter as slowly as I could so that I could savor every word of it. It was worth me taking the time, although I was fully aware that each time I clicked “Next page” I was that much closer to the finish. This was a fantastic end to such a richly layered story. Everyone got their ending, and each and every one of them earned it… the struggles each couple/family had to overcome to get to their happiness made it all the more believable. You didn’t cheat, Portia, not the readers, not the story. This has been such an absolute treat to read, through all the highs and lows, and I’ve loved every single word of it. (And kudos for not forgetting Jenny this chapter! heh) Thank you, Portia, for writing this story and taking us on the journey with you. Take care, and I hope we see another story from you soon.

    18. well after about a month and a half im finally finish with your story and as I wrote you before I truly believe you are a gift to writing and taking readers along for the experience. I had to stop several times for work or sleep but it was well worth the time. I prolonged finishing the last chapter didn’t want t see it end, but like the L word, like tibette chemistry, all good things but come to end….Bravo!! my friend I hope to see a book with your name on it forreal..til next story………

You did an absolutely remarkable job with this. The story telling, the storyline, the interweaving of the characters, seasons, cannon and AU was beyond incredible. You have amazing talent and I hope to read more of your incredible work. Amazingly done!
