    Angelica Kenter narrates – Mark comes home – Bette meets the creative director of Tina’s new project – Sabrina has an unexpected Knight in shining armor – Helena gets a blow – Dana is dramatic and Lara tries to change her mind –

     

                “You don’t know who I am, do you.” said Sam with sympathy.  “You always treated me well, never hid that fact that I was dying, always gave it to me straight, pun not intended,” smiled Sam.  Sabrina laughed and Sam continued, “You are a good doctor and what Helena did was wrong.  You’ve heard of the Vance Legacy Corporation?”

     

                “Yeah,” snorted Sabrina.  “They own like half of LA.”

     

                “Yes, I do,” said Sam.  “I’m going to take over your scholarship and you won’t have to worry about any more bullshit, you just be a good doctor.”

     

                “Holy shit,” said Sabrina.  “You’re a Vance?  Like a real Vance?”

     

                “I’m the Vance,” said Sam with a sad smile.  “I’m the last of that blood line, and I very much doubt I’ll be having children.  Now, say thank you and go celebrate with your friends, but bring me to my room first.   I’m exhausted and I shouldn’t be out of my room without a mask, but I thought coming in here with a mask might not make me look very authoritative,” smiled Sam.

     

                “The transplant worked?  Who was the donor?” asked Sabrina as she pushed Sam back to her room.

     

                “Anonymous,” said Sam.  “Whoever it was, I owe them.  I have another chance at life.”

     

                “So you’re going to be fine,” whispered Sabrina, a rare smile spreading over her face.

     

                “Now I’m wishing my husband hadn’t left me for a younger, cuter, not sick woman,” smiled Sam as she got back into bed.  “One door closes, another opens,” said the doctor.

     

                “He’s an ass, he should have stuck by you, but men leave,” said Sabrina.  “Thank you, Dr. Vance.”

     

                Sam shrugged, “All in a day’s work,” said Sam, tugging her Superman hat onto her head and making Sabrina laugh as she left the room, casting one last look at the woman who’d just single handedly saved her career.

     

                “I’m a doctor again,” whispered Sabrina as she swung a leg over her bike, “Son of a bitch.”
