    Chapter 7 – B&T beginning

     

    “Mom, I don’t think Brad’s brother is interested in me” Cause he’s gayer than me Again Tina thought. “And I’m not looking for a relationship right now, ok? So let me be crystal clear about this: do not… DO NOT start introducing me to every single guy that attends to this wedding, understood?” Tina was quite adamant about the subject and her mother realized probably this time she had to follow orders.

     

    “Yes ma’am!” Mrs. Kennard said in that army tone that drove Tina insane.

     

    “Oh good god! Where’s dad when I need him?” She said clearly annoyed.

     

    “Hey I’m still your mother you know… so I demand some respect!” Her mother firmly said and Tina silently apologized.

     

    Meanwhile in the kitchen everybody was working at maximum speed, coordinated by Bette who was into full working mode, and when that happened everybody knew that you either had to keep up with her or leave her kitchen.

     

    “Come on people! Starters are ready, we’ve got ten minutes until serving, try to keep up!” Bette was loudly telling her staff. “Laurel, are you done?” She asked.

     

    “Yes Chef Porter. I’ll start assembling the main courses” Laurel quickly replied.

     

    “Laurel, I think it’s time you start calling me Bette you know. You’re no longer my student” Bette smiled at the beautiful blue eyed brunette, who clearly had not lost her old habits. Laurel slightly blushed at Bette’s remark, feeling flattered by the brunette’s words.

     

    “Yes Chef Bette” Laurel replied and Bette shyly laughed, which was music to the younger chef’s ears. “You know, I hadn’t realized until today how much I missed working with you” Laurel said getting her confidence out of nowhere. Bette just looked at her and smiled that million dollar smile of hers.

     

    “I’ve missed you too. You know you’re welcome to visit our kitchen any time you want” Bette replied winking at her and going back to what she was doing. There was just no way Bette could see Laurel in a different way than a younger sister, but for Laurel all her feelings were coming back and fast.

     

    If you only knew The younger chef thought as she turned around and begun her designated task.

    3. ahh, pancakes for breakfast….again. this will be an interesting breakfast. one has to wonder if bette will be introduced as the chef who tuned this variation together with the help of her staff. hmm. thickening plots and near miss meetings between these two. YOU are a tease!!what a great story. bette is a chef. how great is that? can’t wait to read more of this story. and thanks for taking the time to share with us.

    5. Tina must be sure to get up for breakfast and have a meal that she will never forget. How will she handle all the emotion that will be happening to her, with her parents present. Great update. Thanks for posting.

    6. I love how you have written both Bette and Tina. I can’t wait for the pancakes to appear and to see what Tina’s reaction will be to those pancakes. Do you think you could pass on the recipe for the chocolate desert?

    17. Huummm Pancakes. Knowing that Tina had never eaten a pancakes so tasty, I’m thinking that Tina is going to connect to a special pancakes Bette Potter. Can not wait for the reunion of the two. More please………….

    21. Oh boy…meeting time…can’t wait! Are you going to make Laurel a twisted character in the triangle of young love? Or will she just pine away for Bette? Interesting twist and options that you have. Ok…let the games begin!
