Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 43

Bette was aware that Alice’s lips were moving. She noticed that Tina’s face was distorted with pain, love and concern and unexpectedly Bette had a vision of Tina lying underneath the tree, bleeding to death.

The world as she knew it ceased to exist and was spinning out of control. The only reality that was left was the gloom around her, like a huge black hole that sucked her into its depth and swallowed her body and soul. She dropped to the ground without a sound.

“Bette…” Tina muttered under her breath before leaning over her unconscious girlfriend.

Place: Laguna Beach, CA – South Coast Medical Center

    Year: Jan. 18, 2006 – Wednesday

“What were you doing out there?” Alice asked Tina, while they were waiting in the room for the doctor to give them an update on Kit and also Bette, who was brought in unconscious and still hadn’t woken up.

“Bette had a little meltdown about Christina, and I had decided to tell her about your discovery in Maxine’s diary,” Tina replied quietly. “I can’t hide it from her any longer, Al…Bette needs to know.”

“So, did you tell her?” Alice asked with concern.

“No, you interrupted us right when I was about to…” Tina sighed.

“Thank God, Tina. If you want to tell her the truth you have to wait for the right moment and by the looks of the things, the right moment will be your death bed,” Alice replied seriously.

“Alice, she has to know…the longer I keep it from her, the harder it will be for Bette to forgive me,” Tina almost cried in frustration.

“Tina, you can’t tell this to Bette right now because she will be torn between her desire to go back in time and get that damn closure with Christina and her love for Kit who is as dear to her as her real sister was. You can’t make her choose between the two of them. Tell Bette about Christina when Kit gets better…and it will buy you another three months with her and who knows what will happen by then.”

“But Alice…what should I tell her when she asks why I kept it from her for so long?”

    1. Yay you’re back! I was wondering what happened to you. I usually don’t PM the writers because I don’t want to pester them but I can make an exception for you. LOL.

    2. I enjoy this story a lot. But I think I need to re-read it b/c I think I missed something major…I have no idea what Tina’s secret is. What does she need to tell Bette about Christina and why has she been hiding it?…lol, really love the story!

    3. Hiya B&TF ! Just caught up with this story, but I wanted to say : Grrrrrreat chapter ! I loved it, as usual. This is so very enthralling !!! Can’t wait to read more !
