Out of Closet (B&T time-travel romance), Ch. 50, Pt. 1
She handed it to Tina, “I want you to read it to me.”
“Are you sure, baby?” Tina asked, taking the diary and searching Bette’s eyes.
“I’m sure…I want to share my life with you and it includes my past as well,” Bette replied firmly.
The blonde look at the diary and opened it carefully. On the inside of the cover she saw the inscription that their new friend Jennifer mentioned before, ‘The diary of Lizzie Porter.’
It was written in a child’s hand and had cute flowers and birds drawn all around it.
“Bette…I…this is amazing,” Tina whispered in awe and looked at Bette with her eyes full of tears.
“It is, isn’t it?” the brunette replied, taking Tina’s hand and rubbing it gently.
“Do you want to start from the beginning or open it randomly?”
“Let’s do it randomly, I think it would be more…interesting this way.”
“Okay,” Tina took a deep breath, closed her eyes and opened a random page.
Bette’s diary – random entries
September 17, 1885:
“Is Christina the one? Am I really into women as Alicia seems to imply or is it happening only because of Christina who awakened my soul and introduced me to my own heart. And if it is Christina, why am I hesitant to talk to her about it and not completely happy as I should be?
Do I feel guilty because I love a woman or because I love a woman who has a husband…a truly wonderful and a generous man. Why am I so unsettled? What should I do? Do I tell her or do I keep silent and suffer alone?”
September 18, 1885:
“Today we finally admitted that we have feelings for each other. Well…it was more like discovering the way we feel when we are together. I need to feel her touch, I need to see her…I want to kiss her. This is so new to me…and to her…and I think it scared Christina.
It ruined our friendship because now she only wants to be my teacher. I miss her…I miss my friend.”
September 25, 1885:
“Today’s my big sister’s wedding. Katie was so beautiful in her white dress with lace and embroidered patterns. She wore her hair up that was supported by a string of pearls and little white flowers.

What a sweet chapter! I could picture Tina and Bette out on the patio during both conversations, and your dialogue was perfect. I liked that Bette had Tina reading to her rather than the other way around. You’re getting so good at this that pretty soon we will have to pay to read your writing! :-) Thanks!
