Shane and Molly: A Love Story Chapters 1-6

Molly stands there stunned. Shane makes her way over to her. “What did you say to her?” Molly asks.

“I just told her how I felt about you. That I love you and that you inspire me.” She pulls Molly to her and hugs her tightly.

“Thank you for doing this,” Molly says. Shane replies by squeezing her a bit tighter.

    “Let’s go home.”

    “Home?” Molly asks, somewhat surprised.

Smiling, Shane replies, “Yeah, well, that is if you want it to be.”

“Are you asking me to move in with you?”

“C’mon, Molly. Don’t make me say it,” Shane pleads.

“Okay.” She kisses Shane. “Let’s go home.” She smiles seductively as she leads Shane out of the library.

    Chapter 5

Shane is standing in the driveway, unloading Molly’s boxes from the U-haul.

“You really have a lot of sh!t,” Shane complains.

“It’s not sh!t,” Molly calls out from inside the truck.

Picking up a worn out, beat up, old sweatshirt from the box that sits in front of her, “Well, then, what the hell do you call this?”

Hopping down from the truck, Molly replies, “That’s my favorite sweatshirt.” She grabs it from Shane and pulls it over her head.

Shane laughs at the sight of her. The sweatshirt is a bit ill fitting. It’s a little too small. It’s faded. It’s ripped under both arms. “Beautiful,” Shane says, rolling her eyes.

“Fvck you!” Molly laughs. She playfully smacks Shane’s ass.

    “You wish,” Shane quips.

Molly laughs and wraps her arms around Shane. Closing her eyes tight, she squeezes her tighter. Bette approaches them, but neither sees her.

“Ahem,” Bette clears her throat to get their attention.

“Oh, hey, Bette,” Shane says somewhat coolly. Molly doesn’t even acknowledge Bette’s presence. She picks up a box and walks into the house.

Watching Molly walk away, Bette says, “Hey. Molly’s moving in, huh?” She turns her eyes back to Shane.

    “Yeah.”

    “You want some help?”

    “No,” Shane says flatly.

    “Shane, I jus–”

“Fvck off, Bette.” She picks up a box and starts walking towards the door.

Bette is hurt by Shane’s rebuff. She calls after her, “I’m sorry.”

Shane drops her box on the ground and spins around. She sharply asks Bette, “For what? For getting caught being two-faced?”
