    Chapter 21 – B&T beginning

     

    “I left the party last night…” Bette softly started to speak.

     

    “Oh no shit…” Alice interrupted her friend.

     

    “Al… let her finish…” Shane had the habit of coming to Bette’s rescue when she knew Alice was pissed off at the brunette for something.

     

    Bette looked pensive and beat up but she knew deep inside that her friends were the most loyal people you could find on the face of this earth, so they would be, above all, understanding once they stopped being mad.

     

    “Look you all know me… right?… and you also know Tina and the fact that she’s here…”

     

    Alice shot daggers with her eyes at Shane at that moment, this exchange going unnoticed to Bette.

     

    “So… I went to the bathroom at the karaoke and… there she was…” A broad smile appeared on Bette’s face for the first time that day. The girls lifted her eyebrows at her friend’s huge smile.

     

    “And well… we talked a bit… and I was seriously… got damn drunk… as you know…” Bette was fidgeting with her coffee mug. “So I left with her…”

     

    And here it comes… she said after finishing that last part of her statement, knowing that Alice would jump to her neck first, eventually followed by the rest of them.

     

    Bette was startled by the silence surrounding her.

     

    What the fuck?… Am I in that depp shit? But when she lifted her head she was shocked to see Shane and Dana with plastered smiles on their faces, and although Alice was not smiling she was not looking like her usual psychopath when she’s mad either. Bette was extremely confused.

     

    “What the hell is going on here?” Bette asked without thinking it first.

     

    “Well… that was our question but… now that we saw what we needed to see… I think we can go now…” Dana shyly spoke.

     

    “Like fuck I’m going anywhere…” Alice said.

     

    “Al… Bette probably needs to rest and… well whatever she needs to do… I don’t think she needs us around for that…” Shane sounded as wise as ever.

     

    “Yeah… I know… but I want details… I cannot leave without the details…” Alice said looking directly at Bette and forming a small smile on the corners of her lips. “Spill it out Porter… my patience has a limit” She concluded.

    8. I’m glad the gang didn’t put any obstacles in their way, that’s something they are capable of doing all by themselves. Though I can’t help but wonder where Julia was? What are the odds that Alice is right? Probably not, but it would make things easier for Bette. The trip to the UK was a nice setup but I suppose that during this visit things went even more wrong? You’re doing great, thanks!
