    The Black Flag Ch. 22

She tossed the man a gold doubloon and the man caught it clumsily before shooting Shane an annoyed look. “You’re name, sir?” He took his quill in his hand ready to write her name down.

“Jarlath Fallamhain Padriac O’malley.” Shane said in one quick breath and let the random Irish names flow from her tongue like they were second nature.

The short fat man seemed flustered and placed his quill to the paper and then brought it up again before writing. “And h- how exactly is that spelt?”

Shane gave him an exaggerated look of shock, “Why, exactly how it sounds, mate!” She gave him a slap on the back and started walking down the dock with her fellow pirates in tow as they tried not to snicker as the poor man tried his hardest simply to remember the name he was given.

“What say we get some rooms, take a quick breather, and after sundown get those men and women out o’ there. Sound good?” Shane asked over her shoulder as they walked down the docks and past the many shoreline stores and taverns.

They made their way to a small inn with the name The Three Horse Shoes painted in bold red lettering atop it’s double doors. They made their way in and found a seat at one of the tables in the attached tavern.

A blonde barmaid made her rounds around the tables, stopping briefly to set a pitcher of grog at their table. She paused ever so slightly to admire the lanky pirate with a grin before biting her lip and letting her face turn pink when the pirate gave her a coy grin back.

Carmen watched with a slightly annoyed look, one eyebrow raised and her lips lightly pursed as Shane watched as the blonde barmaid left, completely oblivious to her girlfriend’s deadpan expression.

“Do you have a plan?” Victor asked and leaned back in his chair, ignoring the looks they’re odd group was earning from other tables.

Shane groaned a little and yawned from her lack of sleep before shaking her head and tearing her eyes away from the barmaid. “I figure we go in, and get out. Simple.”

Carmen shook her head at Shane, “That’s not much of a plan…”
