The Black Flag Ch. 23
Chapter 23
“Funny… Our room was right next to yers… and I didn’t hear a peep,” Diego grinned as they left The Three Horseshoes as the sun was setting over the town ready for their daring rescue… Or as ready as the rag tag team could be.
Shane gave him a look and kept walking. She wasn’t exactly in the mood to play around. She had a slight bit of anxiety mixed in with her sexual frustration leaving her in a rather volatile mood. It didn’t seem to bother Carmen in the least though as she walked past Shane, teasingly running her fingers down Shane’s arm, and even though Shane hadn’t any exposed skin, she felt the touch clearly through her dark silk shirt and groaned slightly, turning her glare on Carmen.
Carmen gave just the smallest smirk and turned around to face Shane, “She’s just a bit hard up.”
Diego cocked a brow at the term and tried to stifle his chuckle when Shane glared at Carmen. She had intended it to be a warning glare, but the slight pout of her lips only made Carmen smile more and she wrapped her arms around Shane’s neck, pulling the lanky girl to her. Shane was caught off guard and her glare disappeared almost instantaneously, replaced by a much kinder smile, knowing that not all hope was lost and that Carmen was still very much infatuated with her, despite her flirtations with the saucy blond barmaid. “I suppose we she do this, huh?” Shane asked quietly into Carmen’s ear as she ran her fingers through the wild mane.
“Mmm,” Carmen let out a small moan of agreement and pressed a very chaste kiss to Shane’s lips before turning to start walking again.
“Hey, uh… Where exactly are we going?” Diego piped up and the pirates stopped their steps, looking to each other for any semblance of direction.
The two women stayed quite for a second, thinking. “I suppose Shane could always ask her new little friend for directions.” Carmen stated, no hint of malice in her voice, just a light teasing air.
Shane rolled her eyes for a second and turned to glance at Victor only to find the large man gone. She knitted her eyebrows together and did a full 360 degree turn to find the man who’d long since walked away from the group down an adjacent dirt road. “Victor?” Shane asked more to herself, knowing full well he wouldn’t be able to hear her. She glanced quickly to the other confused pirates who had fallowed her stare to the lone man who had a strong sense of purpose and determination in his stride. She cocked her head only slightly before jogging after him, Carmen and Diego in tow.
