The Black Flag Ch. 22
Shane chuckled and snaked an arm over Carmen’s shoulder. “Not sure if you’ve noticed but, I rely on luck most of the time.”
“Great.” Carmen said sarcastically with a big smile, “We’re all going to die.” She reached for her mug of grog and lifted it to the table, “Cheers!”
“Aye, to Shane’s shit plan!” Diego said raising his mug and clinking it to the Latina’s.
Victor gave a half chuckle before raising his own mug in a small gesture before bringing it to his lips and downing the contents in mere seconds.
Shane shook her head with a crooked smile, “Way I see it, if you’re trustin’ me to come up with a plan, you deserve to die.”
Shane’s eyebrows rose slightly at the sensation of fingers briefly running through her hair, she glanced slightly to her left where Carmen was sitting, her hands both wrapped tight around her mug. Shane cocked a brow and glanced over her shoulder seeing the young blonde barmaid again as she passed by. The blonde gave a small grin over her shoulder before once again going about her work and leaving back to the bar.
Diego raised an eyebrow, and his eyes darted back and forth between Shane and the barmaid in confusion, then to everyone else at the table. He looked confused, no one else had seen the small yet obvious flirting, and continued to talk amongst themselves. How could they have missed that? Diego looked to Shane who’s eyes were trained on the bar across the room, even as her hand traced light patterns on her Latina’s bare shoulder.
Shane swallowed and licked her lips just slightly, “I’m going to get us some rooms.” She pushed her chair back and made her way towards the bar as Diego stared on in utter confusion.
Shane gave a coy grin to the blonde barmaid working at the bar. “What can I do for you, stranger?” She grinned and Shane could hear a distinct playfulness in the girl’s voice.
“You could start by tellin’ me your name,” Shane grinned slyly. There was something about flirting that Shane simply loved. Something that seemed to reaffirm who she was. It was definitely her element. She could sail, she could fight and she could take on just about anything thrown her way, but all that paled in comparison to Shane’s ability to charm pretty girls.
