The L Word: Tina Kennard’s lost background
“Gran…?” Tina said quietly, but the woman didn’t respond. “Gran, it’s me…Christina…” Tina repeated. Rose turned her head, spotting Bette and the little baby in her arms. Tina saw that and looked in the same direction.
“Gran…, I want you to meet someone…” Tina gestured at Bette to come closer, so her grandmother could see Angie better. When Bette came closer Rose closed her eyes and whispered…
“So young and already so powerful…” Tina leans down to hear her words but she became quiet again.
“Gran….what did you said…” Tina asked, not hearing her well…
“Destiny is not a matter of chance Christina; it is a matter of choice…” Rose took deep breath…”It’s not things to be waited for it’s a thing to be achieved ….you have to find her…” Then Rose closed her eyes …”I’m tired, leave me to rest…”
“Gran…what destiny….who I have to find…what are you talking about…?” Tina was becoming unease with every passed minute.
“Cristina….” A deep male voice came from behind. Tina turned back and there was her grandfather standing at the door frame…
“Grandpa…I…I’m happy to see you…” Tina walked next to him giving her grandpa a big hug.
“Same here…and who’s the young lady over there…” Mario said looking at Bette and the little girl in her hands.
“Grandpa…this is Angelica Porter-Kennard…our daughter…” Tina took Angie’s little hand in hers.
“She’s very beautiful Christina…and looked so much like you…and you miss Porter…this is so fascinating….” Mario was looking at the little girl who was smiling back at him, like she understood his words.
“But you have to leave…” Mario turned his back and walked away, leaving stunned Bette and Tina in the middle of the room. Tina looked at Bette and she nodded at her, so Tina ran after her grandfather….
“Grandpa…waits, where you are going…why I have to leave…stop!” Tina yelled after him, making him stop in his tracks…”Talk to me…tell me what’s going on!”
“Fine…fallow me…” He said and turned his back, walking through the house, Tina was walking after him. Soon they were in the back yard, surrounded by the old trees and beautiful flower-beds. Mario was walking in some direction away from the house; Tina had never been in this part of the property.
