    Author Notes:

    Shane’s home. Helena’s leaving home. Bette and Tina try to figure out what to do with their lives. Everyone prepares for the day on this Los Angeles morning before New Year’s Eve.

    Bette: …What was that?

    Tina: That…….I still love you.

    Bette closes her eyes and bites her bottom lip for a moment, overcome with just hearing those words from Tina.

    Tina: But that doesn’t mean this is settled, Bette.  This whole
    thing with Henry…..and that’s my fault….but also with Joyce Wishnia
    getting involve momentarily and you running off with
    Angelica….Bette…….it’s gonna take a miracle for you to be granted
    adoptive rights.

    Bette: I guess we both really screwed up, didn’t we…?

    Tina has a surge of anger at Bette saying “we” instead of “I” for an
    instant, but that fades away as her lips tighten up and sense some
    truth in Bette’s words.

    Tina: …..Yeah.  I guess we both did.

    Bette: So, what do we do now?

    Tina sighs.

    Tina: We start from scratch and we show the State, regardless of what
    we think of the system that you should be approved.  And that
    means….fixing all this.

    Tina motions with her eyes and turning head the house.

    Bette: What do you mean?

    Tina: We’ve got to make this place look….God….how can I put this….

    Bette: Normal?

    Tina: Yeah…normal.  And safe for Angelica.

    Bette: Alright.  But what about you?

    Tina: What do you mean?

    Bette chokes up and a small tear streams down.

    Bette: What can I do to make things up to you….?

    Tina: …Come here….

    Bette slides closer to Tina and the feeding Angelica. Tina leans over
    to Bette as their breath clashes together and their eyes lock onto each
    other.

    Tina: Remind me why we’ve loved each other for so long….

    A small tear now streams down from Tina.  Bette reaches gently
    strokes her hand across the side of Tina’s face and for the first time
    in what feels like forever, they engage in a heartfelt kiss. 
    Their tongues reaquaint each other like long lost friends as they kiss
    each other.  Bette and Tina’s face depart from each other as they
    look down to see Angelica remove the baby bottle from her lips and
    smiles.  The smile turns out to be contagious as soon, everyone on
    the couch is doing the same.  It’s a nice moment for Bette and
    Tina as for once they feel like a true family.  Tina’s eyes close
    and the smile begins to fade however.  Bette notices right away.

    Bette: Tee…?  Tee, what’s wrong…?

    Tina: I need to say something that I should have said a long time
    ago….  It’s something I always knew, but didn’t realize it so
    badly until the several months.

    5. Yes, this story is happy and sad at the same time. As a Tibette fan I love that these two are in the process of healing their broken family. I am excited to see Alice and Lara helping each other out with the death of Dana. Even if these ladies do not form a girlfriend relationship they do have a great friendship to fall back into. Shane needs to come to some sort of terms as to why she left Carmen at the alter. I hope that they can also start over. As for Helena, she always bothered me in that she tried to take Tina away from Bette. Now, I see her in a different light. All she wanted was for someone to love her and care for her. She may have found that but not as a lover but as good friend to Jenny, Shane, Kit, Lara, Alice and of course even Bette and Tina. I hope that you will continue with this storyline.
