    Window of Opportunity ch. 41

We got up and went to the shower together. The mere thought of showering with Tina was enough to take my mind off the tasks at hand and we made love in the shower until the hot water failed us and forced us to quickly wash and get out. We were laughing so hard by the time we got out. Tina’s laughter was a sound that could always bring a smile to my lips and seeing her happy only made me happy. After getting dressed, without calling Kit we drove to The Planet. We figured we’d more than likely find our kid there and were not wrong. She was sitting there entertaining Shane and Alice when we walked in holding hands and barely contained herself trying to get out of her chair with her syrupy sticky hands to get in my arms. Tina, with more foresight than I, took a step back until Angie was safely in my arms and then reached over to kiss her. She was spared the sticky mess I had become. I took Angie into the bathroom to clean both of us up.

When I woke up I was tired. I can’t remember a time that I had tossed and turned so much. Even when Bette and I first broke up I slept better but that had a lot to do with crying myself to sleep nightly. I was sorry that I had disturbed Bette all night but she reassured me that she was ok with my tossing and turning. She just wanted to be there for me. I was so appreciative of her and wondered what I did to deserve this second chance with her.

I woke up knowing that I have to have my parents in my life. Regardless of the hurt that they’ve inflicted and the turmoil they’ve caused, I have never loved anyone other than Bette and Angie as I love my parents. The whole time that we were estranged I wished for them to be in my life. When Bette and I exchanged our vows at our commitment ceremony the only thing that kept it from being perfect was that my parents weren’t there. When we lost our son, I needed my mother’s touch and her wisdom to help me but she wasn’t there and I faltered and went down a self destructive road. When I found out Bette was cheating, I needed my mom again and had to face that insurmountable loss without her. Whenever something good or something bad happened they were who I thought of. I wondered if they would be proud of me or what pieces of wisdom they could share with me during a particular situation. I want to meet my biological father.

    1. Welcome back, newagegirl! Have I mentioned that I absolutely love this story? I like the story’s pacing; you’re not in a rush, you’re taking time to explain what both Bette and Tina are going through, what they’re thinking and their emotional state. I’d really love to see an episode or two of Season 6 play out this way because like Alice, I’m dying to know if Tina’s been raised by a pack of wolves or not. And thank you for keeping the memory of the healthy, happy and goofy Dana alive. I also appreciate the “screen time” you’ve been giving to the adorable Angie. That’s something we didn’t get from the show this season too. Me wuv surprises! Can’t wait for their date night… THANK YOU, newagegirl, and please don’t stay away too long!:>
