    Author Notes:

    Computer talk, dreams, kids, jewelry, and Drs. Fairbanks and McCutcheon try to solve Patient Pieszecki’s dilemma. (AlShaDane, because I needed some). *Please see the note at the end, too, if you have time. It’d mean a lot.*

    “That’d be nice,” Alice said quietly. “I’m sorry I hurt your arm.” She tried to massage the area, but Dana winced and pulled away from the touch. She smiled and wiped Alice’s tears away.

    “It’ll be okay. You didn’t do anything; if I’d listened to you and let go I wouldn’t have hurt it. I think I overworked it a little this morning, anyway.” Dana told her about Max’s plan to help with their respective websites. “I told him we’d meet him at the Planet tomorrow morning, if that’s okay with you.”

    “It’s fine with me. Today I need to go grocery shopping, though. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we don’t exactly have much food. Especially since I burned a lot of it yesterday.”

    “We didn’t have a lot left to begin with, Al. You only burned a wok full.”

    “Yeah,” Alice replied, shaking her head. “Anyway, I’m going with Helena since she’s out of food too, and her kids are coming tomorrow to stay with her. I think Shane might be going too, if you wanna come,” she said with a shrug.

    “I would, baby, but I think you should go and hang out. Just don’t overload on the junk food, okay?”

    “Fine, real food for me, rabbit food for you. I know, I know, I remember,” Alice said in fake exasperation. “Okay, let me call Shane and I’ll figure out what’s going on, okay? Will you be good by yourself?”

    “I’ll be fine. I told my mom I’d call her, and I’m gonna go see the kids at the hospital for a little bit too. Go shop,” Dana told her, gently pushing her off the bed to make her get ready. Alice sighed and left the room, taking her phone with her and confirming things with Shane.

    Dana showered first, since Shane wasn’t supposed to be there for an hour. When she was finished and dressed, she headed to the kitchen and made them some omelets, making some for Shane and Shay at the last minute. The buzzer rang before Alice was out of the shower, as Dana had known would happen. Rolling her eyes at Alice’s slowness, she let Shane and Shay in and headed to the kitchen. Shay was the first one she saw, running in and taking the plate from her hands almost before she’d managed to finish putting the salsa on it.

    1. Yay, I do believe I’m first! I totally always thought Erin Daniels had a Sheryl Crow-esque look to her, but I thought I was the only one. I loved this update, it was really adorable and so well written. And yeah, I shuddered at the thought of them listening to Mariah Carey.

    3. Alice’s lack of sense of reality is a bit unsettling, but understandable. But getting AlShaDane back together is way cool. Dana eating the rest of the pizza was funny after she told Alice not to buy all garbage at the grocery store, haha. The Ari storyline is growing on me, as it shows Dana’s strength and compassion. Yet I don’t get the backlash against Mariah. I for one felt that for once Dana should get the entertainment of her choice. Circles, twas a nice touch!

    4. Alright, I’m a lurker and never posted because frankly I have too many website accounts and will lose track.But after reading the note at the bottom of this chapter I was forced to sign up just to beg you to somehow continue it.I check for updates pretty much every second day, which sounds creepy but it just shows how much I love this story. I refuse to watch L word after our beloved little ms fairbanks was taken from us and aside from watching season 1 and 2 over and over again this gives me something to actually look foward to. This is the only way danish love continues for me, and to have it taken away again would be toooo tragic. So if you need to end it, do so. But I’m praying you keep going because I don’t know where else to turn to for danish satisfaction.

    5. I love your writing and really enjoy this story. There has never been a bad chapter (I should know — when you posted the latest, I went back and re-read the whole thing). I hope you continue.
