    Ashley finally meets her replacement.

    “Oh, well did she ever tell you about our first date?” Rachel asked, unable to contain her laughter.

    “Why, Rach? Why must you tell this story again?”

                Spencer was not amused. There was something almost infuriating about watching Rachel and Ashley share stories like old war buddies who had bedded the same girl. She had been almost sure that the two would hate each other. They were complete and total opposites yet they had gotten along almost immediately.

    “Because it’s the best one I have on you. Anyway, so Spencer and I were set up by one of my coworkers who’s partner works at the school where Spence teaches. We’re supposed to meet at this little French restaurant and then go see a late movie. There I am…”

    “Early of course,” Spencer interrupted bitterly, nearly chugging her red wine.

    Rachel went on un-phased, “Right, so there I am waiting for her to show up and by this time I’ve downed like, an entire bottle of house wine. She finally arrives wearing this sexy black dress…”

                Ashley flinched, taking a moment to look at Spencer who was obviously far from thrilled.

    Rachel continued anyway, “She spots me and on her way over she runs into one of the waiters who’s carrying this tray of…”

    “I don’t think Spencer’s very happy,” Ashley said, still eyeing the blonde possessively.

    “Spence is fine. She loves this story.”

    “No, I d-d-don’t,” Spencer replied, the wine finally affecting her speech.

    “Of course you do.”

    “Spence, are you ok? I think you might’ve overdone it on the wine, my friend,” Ashley said, instinctively reaching for Spencer’s hand.

    “I’ll finish the story later,” Rachel said, completely oblivious to the situation, “Right now I’m going to bed. I’ve got an early morning. Nice to meet you, Ashley. Come back anytime you want.”

    “Thanks, it was nice meeting you too.”

                As soon as Rachel was out of view, Spencer started crying. Her tears fell wet and heavy onto the fabric of her dress. Ashley absorbed the rest with her hand, but said nothing. She knew the battle that was raging in Spencer’s head. She was stuck in a relationship because of fear and there was nothing Ashley could do but wait and hope.

    1. You are pretty much amazing at making unexpected turns in a story! I spent last night reading all of your stories and i have to say that they’re amazing! Some of the best i’ve read! And i agree with everyone else at the end of this i was like WTF?! PMS!

    2. I’m not sure if I should be saying, “Poor Ashley..Now she has to deal with the fiancee and her ex..” Or “You lucky dog you, go Ash go!..” Amazing story altogether though, keep ’em coming!

    3. I knew it. As soon as I read “Ashley awoke to the sensation of warm fingers caressing her back.”, before I went to the next page, I was like I bet it’s Rachel. So I guess Ashley’s gonna kick her out of bed and try to tell Spencer, but Spencer’s gonna think she’s trying to sabotage her wedding and not believe her. That’s just my guess, but with how fantastical your mind works, I’m sure it’s not that simple. PMS Can’t wait to read what happens. Love ya mucho!! :)

    17. ok i have been reading this story from the begining and i thinks it is one of the best so far that i read. this is the first comment that i ever left anyone. i was shock to find out it was rachael who went it to ashley room i thought for sure it was spencer, anyway that was a good turn for hopefully up coming events. now i hope in ur next chapter you have pencer walking in a rach and ash then spencer could brake up with her and go back to ashley. can’t wait for the next chapter.
