Outside Sarah arrives with Shane and Alice in Alice’s car behind. They run into the ER.

“Hi, Tina Kennard Porter?” Alice asks.

The nurse looks through some papers.

“She’s in surgery no. You have to wait here.” The nurse says.

“Surgery? She’s giving birth, why’s she in surgery.” Alice asks.

“It says here on my papers that she’s in surgery. Why don’t you sit down over there, I’ll check the information. Are you family?” She asks.

“I’m her sister.” Sarah says.

“Okay, I’ll be right back.” The nurse says.

They walk over and takes a seat.

“She’s in surgery? I can’t believe it.” Alice says.

“She was in a lot of pain, she could stand up or walk, that’s why we called the ambulance.” Sarah says.

“Oh my God, what if” Alice starts.

“No, Alice, don’t. They are all fine.” Shane says.

Just then the nurse comes back.

“What’s going on?” Sarah asks nervously.

“There were some complications, they are doing an emergency C-section.”  The nurse says.

“Oh, my. Is she okay?” Sarah asks.

“I don’t know. You will have to wait for the doctor.” The nurse says and walks back to her station.

In the OR:

Bette is sitting by Tina’s face, stroking it lovingly. Tina is still crying, but she’s exhausted so she just cries. The doctors are working fast. One of the babies hearts were slowing, they had to get him out right away.

“I’m sorry.” Tina says.

“Baby, they’re here, they’re almost here. You are doing great baby.” Bette says and leans down and kisses her forehead. Just then a baby cry is heard, a tiny sweet baby cry.

“And here he is.” One of the doctor says and holds him up for both Bette and Tina to see. He gives him to one of the nurses who checks him and cleans him. Then the other doctor lifts up the other little boy. “And here is another.” He says and smiles. It takes a few moments for the little boy to start crying.

“Oh thank God.” Bette whispers, she leans down and kisses Tina softly on the lips.

“I love you, you were amazing baby. They’re here, they’re finally here.” She whispers.

Tina smiles and cries and looks at Bette.

They quiet down and all they hear is baby cry. Which calms there nerves, they are okay.
