“Let’s stitch up the mother.” The doctor says. Tina fell asleep.

Both babies are cleaned and checked for infection.

“Ms. Porter. The babies will be taken up to the nursery. And Tine here will be taken to recovery.  She will be moved to a regular room in a couple of hours.” The doctor says.

“Okay, thank you doctor, thank you for saving my family.” Bette says and gives him a hug,

“Oh it’s my job Ms. Porter. You go and be with your children, I’m sure you can’t wait to hold them.” He says and smiles.

“You’re right. When will Tina be good to go home?” Bette asks.

“Well, she have to be here for a couple of days. But after that she can go home, but she has to stay calm, either sit or lay down, don’t lift anything. The wound needs to heal properly.” The doctor says.

“Yes, okay. Thank you.” Bette replies.

Out in the waiting room Alice is starting to pace the floor.

“Alice, please calm down. They are okay.” Shane says.

Just then Bette comes walking down the hall towards the waiting room. Sarah is the first who sees her.

“Bette.” She says and runs towards her. Hear heart is almost jumping out of her chest, same for Alice and Shane who follows closely.

Then they all see the big smile on Bette’s face.

“SO? What happened? We come in and suddenly Tina’s in surgery.” Alice says.

“Come on, let’s sit over here.” Bette says and guides them over to some empty seats.

They all sit, looking curiously at Bette.

“Well, the babies were stuck, and one of the little heart were slowing down. They had to do an emergency C-section.” Bette says.

“Oh my. Is Tina okay, the babies?” Alice asks.

“Yes, they are all fine. Tina is in recovery now, but she will be down in her own room in a couple of hours.” Bette says and smiles. “She was amazing.” Bette says and keeps smiling and looks all dreamy.

“The babies? Are they okay?” Sarah asks.

“Oh yes, they are perfect. Two boys, two beautiful boys. I haven’t seen them yet. I’m going up now.” Bette says.

“Two boys, cool.” Shane says and smiles.

“Yeah.” Bette replies.

“Do they have names yet?” Sarah asks.

“We have a few names, but we haven’t decided yet. We’ll do that when Tina gets down from recovery.” Bette says.

“Yeah. We’ll go home, and come back later okay. Give you time alone with your family.” Alice says. They all give Bette a hug and then leaves.

Bette walks back down the hallway. And then takes the elevator up to the nursery.
