    Author Notes:

    Shane comes for a visit and brings some stuff from home.

    Bette said with heavy eyes “I am sorry Shane. I didn’t realize how tired I was even though I just slept. I am sorry”.

    Shane said “Don’t be sorry honey, just rest and take care of yourself. Call if you need anything. And I mean anything. We are right across the street at the hotel”.

    Tina said “Let me walk you out, Shane. Baby, I will be right back”.

    Bette nodded. Tina and Shane walked toward the door and went outside in the hallway.

    Tina said “Shane, are you ok?”

    Shane’s eyes filled with tears. Tina looked at her and brought her in for a long tight hug.

    Tina said “Shane, she is ok. She is going to be ok. It looks bad, I know. You did great. You made her feel good. This is why I sent the girls home, because it is rough to see and so out of Bette’s element it makes it more shocking. And Bette is very insecure and can’t handle things. It is going to be ok though”.

    Shane said “Tina how do you do it? Are you ok?”

    Tina said “Yeah I am all good. I just do it. I love her with all my heart. I see past the bruises and stitches and swelling and see my beautiful Bette. And she really does look better and more well everyday. Things are so much better then they were two days ago. I know that things will be ok. Bette has always been so worried about the way that she looks and what she wears and none of that matters to me. She could have died. It is amazing what her body has been through and came out fighting. I just thank my lucky stars that I have a chance to have another start with her. Another start with my family”.

    Shane said “You are so amazing Tina. So amazing. You know that I am here for you. Anything. You name it”.

    Tina said “I do know. And thank you”.

    They hugged again and Shane left. Tina stood there for a second and then turned to go back into Bette’s room. Bette was fluttering her eyes and could barely keep them open.

    Bette said very concerned “Is everything ok T?”

    Tina said “Yes baby everything is fine. Why aren’t you sleeping? Look at how sleepy those big brown eyes are!”

    Bette said “I just need to see you here when I go to sleep. I am afraid you are going to leave…”

    Tina said “No, no… not this again. I am not going anywhere. Right here with you baby. What would help you fall asleep lovey?”

    Bette said “Just feeling you touching me. Any part of me”.

    Tina’s heart broke into a million pieces. She crawled up into bed right next to Bette and cozied right up next to her. She raked her fingernails on Bette’s scalp lightly for a few minutes and stroked Bette’s neck and shoulders and arm and as her breathing steadied she took Bette’s hand in her own and brought to her mouth and kissed it”.

    And Bette was fast asleep.

    1. Sorry to hear you are still sick. Thank you for continuing to write – i know when i was sick my brain felt foggy. Another wonderful chapter – I love this Tina. She is so strong for the both of them and is saying all the right things. I hope you feel better.

    6. Sorry to hear you’re still under the weather. Hope you get to feeling much better soon! Thank you for updating the story eventhough you’re under the weather. Bette is so insecure right now, but it is so exciting to see how alpha Tina is right now. She’s the rock that Bette will need during the coming weeks of recovery. I predict Bette will lash out at every therapist they will have working with her, but it will be Tina who stands up to Bette and challenges her during her therapy. So realistic was Shane’s reaction to Bette’s appearance. Patiently waiting for the next update. Thanks again!!!

    8. So glad that Bette gets to see the real Tina. Tina is Bette roch always has been and Nette was to busy in her life to realize it. Shane is such a friend, they are few a far between. Hope you feel better soon. that stuff is hard to get rid of. thanks
