    Author Notes:

    Bette and Tina talk about their relationship and Shane comes for lunch.

    Tina gave her “the look” and said “Let’s get you pain medication for your aches and so that you can rest without pain, because that is what you need to do to get better. And you look good. You look so much better then a couple of days ago. I wish you would stop worrying about what you look like. You need to focus on recovering Bette. There will be plenty of time for primping later”.

    Tina got up from her little office space at the table in Bette’s hospital room and went over to use the call button to ask for medication for Bette to ease her pain. Nearly immediately, the nurse came in and gave Bette a shot of something into her IV line. The nurse also talked to Bette and Tina about the fact that in two days Bette would have the pin taken out of her leg. Once that happened Bette could get out of Bette a bit and be in a wheelchair. The nurse left the room.

    Tina said “See? You are coming right along!”

    Bette said “Does that mean that I can hobble to the bathroom to pee by myself once I am in the wheelchair?”

    Although she said it sort in a funny way, Tina knew that she really was asking if this was the case and this small triumph of being able to use the bathroom by herself would do a lot for Bette’s self confidence.

    Tina said “You know baby, I bet it does. You might not be able to actually maneuver the whole thing on your own, but I will help you ok?”

    Bette looked away so she would not have direct eye contact with Tina and said “I just don’t like this. I just feel ashamed and I … just…. I just don’t want you to see me like this. And at the same time, I panic if you aren’t here with me.”

    Bette looked up with big brown eyes that broke Tina’s heart.

    Tina said “Bette, my gosh, do you think I care about a pee bag? Bette, please don’t feel upset or ashamed. Baby, it doesn’t matter to me. It really doesn’t. It doesn’t upset me or bother me or anything”.

    10. That was funny and at least it helped raise Bette’s spirits. At this point what makes Bette smile and feel good is okay with me, Shane will survive.

    14. People have been caught in far worse situations. Several times women were caught in a full makeout session. The nurse closed the door and put a knock before entering sign on the door. lol. At least Bette now feels much better about herself even if Tina is mortified. Hopefully they will get to complete their session, please. Too funny. Praise God it wasn’t big mouth Alice. Great chapter. PPS

    15. nice update…haha shanes funny i think we need more shane moments take our minds off how serious Bette’s health is. funny chapter the bandana well it doesnt ave the same affect on me well actually never thought about it.
