Chapter 10 – Tuesday – Daniel’s Test and Marilyn’s Visit
Tina: Well, we only have four more weeks until we move you to New Haven. The week before we will be here packing everything for LA and getting things ready to go to New Haven.
Dylan: That’s not a lot of time. Are you about ready?
Tina: We have some shopping we need to do and there will be some deliveries on Thursday. But we are right on schedule so far.
Helena: Well, that’s good.
Tina: Angie why don’t you get the wine and refresh everyone’s glass.
Angie: Oh certainly.
Tina: What I was about to say. Marilyn, we are in a dilemma since we are going to be in Los Angles and Angie is here on the east coast. We were wondering if you would serve as Angie’s emergency contact? Bette and I are concerned that if anything should happen to Angie and she were unable to give consent to medical treatment or emergency surgery, that we could not get to her fast enough to give her the attention she may need. Since you are here and only two hours away, perhaps you could serve in our place with a medical power of attorney.
Marilyn: Oh my. I would be happy to. I would hope that nothing would ever happen to Angie that we would have to invoke a medical power of attorney, but I see that it does not hurt to be prepared for such an event. Are you sure that you want it to be me?
Tina: Oh, absolutely – Bette, Angie and I have talked about it and there is no one we would trust more than you to act in Angie’s best interest should she be incapacitated. She needs someone a little closer than six to ten hours away. Of course, if you should be needed, Bette and I would reimburse you for any expenses you incur to meet the needs of the situation. I mean if you take a helicopter to New Haven, then we would pay for it. Of course, we would pay for all transportation, lodging, meals and whatever it takes for you to take care of the situation. We would not want you to be out-of-pocket for acting where we could not.
Marilyn: Do not trouble yourselves about that. I assure you that I have the funds to do what I need to do to take care of my needs in an emergency like you are describing. I would be honored to be Angie’s emergency contact and emergency medical trustee. Angie is like my grandchild and I will handle an emergency as such.

Excellent chapter. Enjoying the growth in Bette and Tina & the family. Post soon!
Thank you… another chapter coming soon.. Couple of days…
As to the growth? I always imagined that as time passed, Bette and Tina would grow more in tuned with each other. They would grow to accept the other for who they were and their idiosyncrasies would become less bothersome for that is what defines them. As they become more knowledgeable of their mate, and more accepting of who they are, the more at peace they would become with themselves and the life they had chosen.
