Daniel:  Yes, I got that impression as well. I would not want to be on the wrong side of that woman. She seems sweet, but I bet if you were not on her good side, she could have you for lunch.

Bette:  Probably.  But I think she’s fair in her judgements as well.

Daniel:  Okay, so what’s the plan for the afternoon?

Bette:  Well, this afternoon we are going to get your uniforms either ordered or purchased. Then we are going home for dinner unless it gets late, then we will find a place and have dinner.  Tomorrow morning, we are going to meet Jeanette to find you a couple of guitars and a violin and the related equipment. Then we will have lunch with Jeanette.  Then we go to visit your new doctor.

Daniel:  Wow, really, I’m getting my guitar and violin tomorrow?

Bette:  Hope so!  We do not have much time this summer and we have to get you situated for the fall and this is part of it.

Daniel:  Thanks Mama. Can I tell Mom?

Bette: Oh absolutely…. She really wants to know what’s going on with you. We have discussed this but that was to plan the schedule.  She wants to know when we actually accomplish what we planned. She wants to know if you are happy with what’s going on or if you are not. She would be here with us, but Angie needed to get her things sorted out as well. So, they had to go to New York. Okay, let’s get your things and get going.

Daniel:  I’m ready. Thanks for bringing the snack.  I needed that.

Bette and Daniel headed from the school to the Academic Uniform Shop which was about six blocks away.  Bette had given Daniel the brochure and told him to look through it and decide what he would like to have.

Daniel:  Wow, there is a lot here. How much do you think I should get?

Bette:  Well, I think you are growing at the moment. So why don’t you get enough to last you until Christmas.  We will get you another six months’ worth then. I really don’t want you to be in ill-fitting clothes. And you will only be in this school for a year. So how about 6 or 8 outfits for classes and about the same for afterschool activities. And only about 2 dress outfits for special occasions. You will need 2 or 3 pair of dress shoes and 2 pair of sports shoes unless you get on a team.
